On generalized plus-constructions of Eilenberg–Mac Lane spaces
AbstractA GEM is an infinite loop space which is weakly equivalent to a product of Eilenberg–Mac Lane spaces. In this paper, the fiber of any f-localization map of a GEM is shown to be a GEM again. Using this result, we compute explicitly the p-local and p-torsion generalized plus-constructions of abelian Eilenberg–Mac Lane spaces. We also prove some arithmetic square results to compute the generalized plus-construction of Eilenberg–Mac Lane spaces in general
Are the Asian Equity Markets more Interdependent after the Financial Crisis?
This paper examines the impact of the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis on the linkages between the Singapore and five Asian-Pacific stock markets. We show that the interdependence between these markets has intensified after the crisis. Before the crisis, only the Malaysian stock market is found to be cointegrated with Singapore. However, after the onset of the crisis, the stock markets of Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and the US are found to be cointegrated with the Singapore stock market.
MECHANISM OF LEG STIFFNESS ADJUSTMENT FOR CHILDREN LANDING ON SURFACES OF DIFFERENT STIFFNESSES
According to the papers, humans do adjust their leg stiffness to accommodate changes in stride frequency or surface stiffness, while hopping in places or running forward. The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanism by which humans adjust leg stiffness during drop landing on surfaces of different stiffness. Kinematic and kinetic data were acquired simultaneously, and then the Inverse Dynamics method was used to acquire the horizontal forces, vertical forces, and the net muscle joint moments in the three lower extremity joints. The quantitative results of the present study might generate more knowledge about the motor performance and the importance of landing to be considered while teaching, coaching and training children
Phase diagram of doped BaFeAs superconductor under broken symmetry
We develop a minimal multiorbital tight-binding model with realistic hopping
parameters. The model breaks the symmetry of the tetragonal point group by
lowering it from to , which accurately describes the Fermi
surface evolution of the electron-doped BaFeCoAs and hole-doped
BaKFeAs compounds. An investigation of the phase diagram
with a mean-field -- Bogoliubov-de Gennes Hamiltonian results in
agreement with the experimentally observed electron- and hole-doped phase
diagram with only one set of , and parameters. Additionally, the
self-consistently calculated superconducting order parameter exhibits
-wave pairing symmetry with a small d-wave pairing admixture in the
entire doping range, % The superconducting -wave order parameter
which is the subtle result of the weakly broken symmetry and competing
interactions in the multiorbital mean-field Hamiltonian
