We report on the performance of a 1 m TPC filled with CF at 3
bar, immersed in liquid scintillator and viewed by photomultipliers. Particle
detection, event identification and localization achieved by measuring both the
current signal and the scintillation light are presented. Particular features
of particle detection are also discussed. Finally, the Mn
photopeak, reconstructed from the Compton scattering and recoil angle is shown.Comment: Latex, 19 pages, 20 figure
Coupling of Metals and Biominerals: Characterizing the Interface between Ferromagnetic Shape-Memory Alloys and Hydroxyapatite
The MUNU experiment : preliminary results
We are interested in the organisational changes in identity, brought about by the juxtaposition of paper and electronic media in the domain of daily newspapers. We define these changes through a specific case: placing the daily newspaper Le Monde on the Internet as Web pages. Our concern is how changes in identity, related to placing a daily newspaper on-line, are understood by a «communicational reading». We explore the on-line newspaper industry using «l'approche communicationnelle» (Alex Mucchielli, 1997, 1998, 2000). This approach pays particular attention to the communication processes which define the on-line newspaper industry. Our objective is to research how the nature of journalism arises, sets itself up and evolves with the help of information and communication technologies
Neutrino detection with a CF4 TPC : the MUNU experiment
The MUNU experiment has been recently built to measure the neutrino magnetic moment at a reactor. Its central part, at the same time target and detector, is a 1 m/sup 3/ TPC filled with 3 bar of CF/sub 4/. This TPC is surrounded by active and passive vetos. The performance of this detector will be described. (21 refs). ector, is a 1 m/sup 3/ TPC filled with 3 bar of CF/sub 4/. This TPC is surrounded by active and passive vetos.
