INFLUENCE OF CHANGES IN THE WORKING TEMPERATURE OF FLEXIBLE COUPLINGS ON THEIR STIFFNESS CHARACTERISTICS

    Get PDF
This article compares flexible couplings of the spider-type insert, and the tire-type insert. The influences of the volume and hardness of the elastomeric connector on the characteristics of this type of coupling, as well as the course of the change of the stiffness coefficient as a result of changes in the operating temperature, are presented. In drive systems, flexible couplings undergo very frequent changes within a wide range of operating temperatures, which causes a change in the dynamic parameters of the flexible couplings during operation

Mining machines elements packing and securing on platform container

The scientific purpose of this paper was to analyse the problem related to intermodal transportation of mining components packed in containers or other cargo transport units coupled with the problem of its proper securing. In this article, the issue of exposing the load to the effects of inertia forces which might cause unintentional movement is presented. The methods of securing the heavy load in cargo transport units are reviewed in the context of cargo immobilisation possibilities while reducing the load sensitivity to mechanical forces. The research part of this article presents the methods of packing and securing an atypical load, which is a part of a mining machine weighing 18t. This paper presents the results of calculations of inertia forces acting on the transported cargo, packed on a container platform. Based on the results, the cross fixing method was selected to secure the cargo and further decisions were made on the type and quantity of conveyor lashings necessary for the safe and correct carriage of the atypical load

The article presents the results of research of the Gwarek 1200 belt conveyor. The work aimed to determine the possible benefits of changing the type of rollers used. It was expected that the change of the rollers from N-type to C-type will reduce the costs of energy consumed by the conveyor drive system. This part of the research was carried out in a hard coalmine at the level of 665 m. The test was given the entire power unit in terms of the starting power demand and rated power in real time. Measurement works were carried out before and after the modernization of the conveyor for 5 years. Moreover, it was decided to extend the research to include vibroacoustic tests, aimed at determining the technical condition by measuring vibrations. It is expected that based on the analysis of vibration signals in the long term will allow to develop a method for diagnosing belt conveyor rollers and to quickly detect their malfunction under normal operating conditions

The paper presents a study of new design of SAG rollers. The study focused on the measurement of static and dynamic resistance of rotating rollers and the impact of new construction on the power consumption of the conveyor. Rollers have been modified through the use of class C4 bearing seals and labyrinth seal U4Exp 62/65 with a cover 2LU4 of runner construction. Measurements of static and dynamic resistance of rotating rollers were made on a universal rollers test bench, and power measurements were carried out on a belt conveyor power supply system Gwarek 1200 No. TW in KWK Mysłowice-Wesoł

New crane bumper design with an energy absorption device system

This article presents research carried out using physical data from the experimental construction of an overhead crane. This article aims to determine the dynamic behaviour of the cart-pendulum system when the hoisting mechanism hits the new bumper design at the end of the girder support structure with selected speed and bumper material to the length of the wire rope. This research shows the influence of the horizontal speed of the hoisting mechanism on the bumper force during a collision with a standard buffer and its modifications. The presented model can be the basis for modelling more complex cases, and its assumed role (i.e. the ability to determine the angle of deflection of the rope during an impact) has been confirmed and is possible to use in a specific case of an overhead crane on an industrial scale. Preliminary analysis of the construction of the bumper considered reveals its positive features, aiming, among other goals, to reduce the acceleration and force acting on the crane cart in emergency situations

Rollers for belt conveyors in terms of rotation resistance and energy efficiency

    No full text
The paper shows the results of researching the rollers used in belt conveyors working in a hard coal mine. Rollers should be characterized by low rotation resistance, which results in low power consumption of the propulsion unit. The tests conducted aimed to assess the technical condition of the new C-type rollers after several years of operation in a hard coal mine. The research was carried out from the new approach to the standard issues of roll testing and verification in a hard coal mine. Laboratory tests were combined with testing the entire belt conveyor in terms of power demand. The research was carried out for 3 years and it was monitored how the dynamic resistance of the working rollers changed and how this translates into the power demand consumed by the belt conveyor in a hard coal mine. The aim of the research was a new approach to the research of rollers used in conveyors operating in a mine
