Angular Power Spectrum in Modular Invariant Inflation Model
We propose a scalar potential of inflation, motivated by modular invariant
supergravity, and compute the angular power spectra of the adiabatic density
perturbations that result from this model. The potential consists of three
scalar fields, S, Y and T, together with two free parameters. By fitting the
parameters to cosmological data at the fixed point T=1, we find that the
potential behaves like the single-field potential of S, which slowly rolls down
along the minimized trajectory in Y. We further show that the inflation
predictions corresponding to this potential provide a good fit to the recent
three-year WMAP data, e.g. the spectral index n_s = 0.951. The TT and TE
angular power spectra obtained from our model almost completely coincide with
the corresponding results obtained from the \LambdaCDM model. We conclude that
our model is considered to be an adequate theory of inflation that explains the
present data, although the theoretical basis of this model should be further
explicated.Comment: 8 pages, 8 figures and 1 tabl

The Effect of Output Processing on Subsequent Input Processing: A Free Recall Study
There is now growing evidence that output promotes second language acquisition. Recently, interest has been shown in examining (a) the effect of output processing on subsequent input processing, and (b) what factors mediate that effect. An experiment was conducted for two proficiency levels of Japanese learners of English under two conditions (output and non-output). First, participants in the output condition wrote a story in English based on four cartoon pictures (output task processing). Second, participants in both conditions read a model story describing the four cartoon pictures (subsequent input processing). Third, both sets of participants were asked, without any advance notice, to recall what they had read (written free recall test). Performance on the written free recall test suggests that (a) output tasks facilitated subsequent input processing, and (b) complex relationships existed among L2 proficiency levels, experiment conditions, and linguistic domains during subsequent input processing. These findings are discussed with reference to second language acquisition research. Implications for pedagogical practice are also considered
Breadand Effervescent Beverage Productions with Local Microbes for the Local Revitalization
Local microbes such as yeasts fungi and bacilli, were isolated and used to apply for the food processing (bread making) and the production of an effervescent beverage (fruits kvass) for promotion of the local revitalization. Our yeast isolates could contribute to make the breads that can sell in alocal bakery shop. Furthermore, the same yeasts could be used for making the fruit kvass (a Russian effervescent beverage which was fermented by yeast) with local fruit products (lemon, dry grape, mandarin orange and apple that were produced in Hiroshima prefecture in Japan). Development of merchandise having the local brand, which was made with only products of Hiroshima prefecture was attempted. Results of these activities demonstrate that the search of local microbes can help to establish the regional brand product related to its local area. They also showed that the local microbes have the potential ability to lead the local revitalization and the local brand product

Electronic state analysis of Li2RuO3 positive electrode for lithium ion secondary battery
An investigation was made on the electronic structure of 4d transition metal layered oxide material of Li2RuO3 using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). The intensity of O K pre-edge peak increased for Li ion extracted samples, suggesting increased ligand holes. The Ru 3d XPS spectrum suggested the variation of local structure around Ru ions by extraction of Li ions. We conclude that the delithiation from Li2RuO3 is charge-compensated by O anions, and that the creation of the ligand holes reorganizes electronic structures composed of highly hybridized Ru 4d and O 2p orbitals
Effect of prior deformation on dimensional change and precipitation process in a Cu-1.8wt%Be-0.2wt%Co alloy aged at 320C
金沢大学理工研究域機械工学系The influence of prior cold work (90% reduction) on the length change and precipitation behaviour of a Cu-1.8wt%Be-0.2wt%Co alloy aged at 320C up to 350 h has been investigated. The alloy gradually expands to a maximum and then contracts during ageing. The maximum expansion is attributable to both the expansion due to the loss of Be solute atoms and the contraction due to precipitation of the [image omitted], I, m and \u27 phases. The subsequent contraction results from the decrease in amounts of the [image omitted] and m phases and the increase in amount of the \u27 phase. The new-found m phase, consisting of alternate Be and Cu matrix layers parallel to the matrix {001}, is body-centred monoclinic with a = b = 0.263 nm and c = 0.279 nm and = 83, and aligns with the matrix according to the Bain orientation relationship. The Guinier-Preston (GP) zone transforms continuously to the m or I phase via \u27\u27 and [image omitted]. The transformation from the GP zone to \u27 via \u27\u27, [image omitted] and I is retarded in comparison with that for the un-deformed alloy.全文公開20100
Minimally Invasive Surgery for Intraocular Lens Removal and Intrascleral Intraocular Lens Fixation with Trabeculectomy in a Patient with Dislocated Intraocular Lens and Elevated Intraocular Pressure
A 88-year-old female who was being treated for end-stage pseudoexfoliation syndrome was referred to our hospital for treatment of dislocated intraocular lens (IOL) and the elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) and in the right eye (RE). At the first visit to our hospital, best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 0.2 in the RE and 0.02 in the left eye (LE). IOP was 47 mm Hg in the RE and 21 mm Hg in the LE. Slit-lamp examination showed no abnormalities in anterior segments and dislocated IOL in the RE. Fundus photograph showed optic disc pallor in both eyes. We performed the combined therapy of flanged intrascleral IOL fixation with the double-needle technique and trabeculectomy. Throughout the follow-up period, BCVA slightly improved from 0.2 to 0.4 in the RE. The angle of tilt of the IOL was 6.6, 7.9, and 8.7° as measured by swept-source optical coherence tomography at 1, 4, and 6 months after the surgery, respectively. The IOP remained less than 10 mm Hg without having to administer any other glaucoma medications. Furthermore, any complications associated with the surgery were not confirmed
A novel partner for the GTP-bound forms of rho and rac
AbstractUsing the yeast two hybrid system and overlay assays we identified a putative rho/rac effector, citron, which interacts with the GTP-bound forms of rho and rac1, but not with cdc42. Extensive homologies to known proteins were not observed. This 183 kDa protein contains a C6H2 zinc finger, a PH domain, and a long coiled-coil forming region including 4 leucine zippers and the rho/rac binding site. We recently identified three others putative rho effectors characterized by a common rho binding motif. Citron does not share this motif and displays a distinctive protein organization, thus defining a separate class of rho partners
