    27-Figure e-Table and its Applications

    Get PDF
This article is an extension of my previous one to more precise values, in which e 's are of 27 decimal places. With an ordinary hand-operated calculating machine, this table enables us to compute efficiently log N, eν, Nν, sinh N, sinh{ 1 N, etc. to 27 decimal places. Examples are added for illustration.Article信州大学工学部紀要 9: 1-12 (1960)departmental bulletin pape

    ON THE MECHANICAL CUBATURE

    Get PDF
From interpolation formulas for the function of two arguments, general expressions for the double definite integral or mechanical cubature are derived. Various rules for the mechanical cubature can be formulated from these expressions, and they will be useful for practical evaluation of the double integral even when this is difficult or impossible to evaluate. The procedure can easily be extended to the evaluation of triple integral and so on.Article信州大学工学部紀要 4: 1-24 (1954)departmental bulletin pape

Thick Plate Subjected to Three Pairs of External Forces on its Bounding Planes

    Get PDF
The boundary-value problem here treated is that an elastic thick plate of uniform thickness is subjected to three pairs of external forces, consisting of one kind of normal pressure and two kinds of shearing forces, applied on its bounding planes;these forces being supposed to be of any distribution, and, for the present, of extending over a rectangular area.Article信州大学工学部紀要 9: 13-34 (1960)departmental bulletin pape

The Solution of the Generalized Boussinesq's Problem for Elastic Foundation. Part I

    Get PDF
This paper gives the solution of the generalized Boussinesq's problem for elastic foundation, in which any distribution of two kinds of shearing forces as well as of normal pressure is given on the bounding surface of the semi-infinite elastic soild. The procedure of solving the problem is due to my proposed one. The solution consists of double Fourier integral representation. Several examples at once follow from the present solution, and their evaluation was relied on the method of numerical integration proposed by me.Article信州大学工学部紀要 6: 77-104 (1956)departmental bulletin pape

17-Figure e -Table and its Applications

An engineer does not necessarily keep with him a logarithm table of more than seven places, but he is at times faced with the urgent necessity for getting more accurate value of logarithm of a given number. The present en-Table will suffice effectively for such a need with a hand-driven calculating machine. Accurate values of ev and Nv can also be found by the table, v and N being given numbers. Examples are added for illustration.Article信州大学工学部紀要 6: 9-18 (1956)departmental bulletin pape

The Reciprocal Theorem Method for Applied Mechanics

    Get PDF
The bending of beams and plates is treated by the extended use of the reciprocal theorem of Maxwell and Betti. This new method eliminates simultaneous equations to be encountered in the ordinary method of analysis. In the case of plates, the use of transposed matrix is especially suited.Article信州大学工学部紀要 10: 46-65 (1960)departmental bulletin pape

17-Figure Table for Sine and Cosine

    Get PDF
The present table gives accurate values of sines and cosines to eighteen places of decimals for every one degree. Subsidiary tables are also given for 1' to 30' and for 5 to 30.These tables will afford an efficient means to compute accurate values of circular functions of any argument, when a 20-figure hand-driven calculating machine is available. Examples are given for illustration. Some techniques for treating large places of numbers by using the calculating machine are also described.Article信州大学工学部紀要 6: 123-134 (1956)departmental bulletin pape
