Computing Information Quantity as Similarity Measure for Music Classification Task
This paper proposes a novel method that can replace compression-based
dissimilarity measure (CDM) in composer estimation task. The main features of
the proposed method are clarity and scalability. First, since the proposed
method is formalized by the information quantity, reproduction of the result is
easier compared with the CDM method, where the result depends on a particular
compression program. Second, the proposed method has a lower computational
complexity in terms of the number of learning data compared with the CDM
method. The number of correct results was compared with that of the CDM for the
composer estimation task of five composers of 75 piano musical scores. The
proposed method performed better than the CDM method that uses the file size
compressed by a particular program.Comment: The 2017 International Conference On Advanced Informatics: Concepts,

Titanium Immobilized with an Antimicrobial Peptide Derived from Histatin Accelerates the Differentiation of Osteoblastic Cell Line, MC3T3-E1
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of titanium immobilized with a cationic antimicrobial peptide (JH8194) derived from histatin on the biofilm formation of Porphyromonas gingivalis and differentiation of osteoblastic cells (MC3T3-E1). The titanium specimens (Ti) were immobilized with JH8194, according to the method previously described. The colonization of P. gingivalis on JH8194-Ti was significantly lower than that on control- and blocking-Ti. JH8194-Ti enhanced the mRNA expressions of Runx2 and OPN, and ALPase activity in the MC3T3-E1, as compared with those of control- and blocking-Ti. These results, taken together, suggested the possibility that JH8194-Ti may be a potential aid to shorten the period of acquiring osseointegration
Measurement of submaximal aerobic power in children
PWC150 in 935 school children whose ages were ranged from 6 to 17 yrs, was measured using a computarized bicycle ergometer. The absolute values of boys increased with age, while thase of girls increased in like mannar until 11 yrs, but maintained the almost same level over 11 yrs. Sex difference was observed in the relative value of PWC150 to body weight. It was concluded that PWC150 was available for easy assessment of submaximal aerobic power in children although further researches were required for obtaining the reliable norm
