Impaired nasal breathing and allergic rhinitis in children
Impaired nasal breathing is one of the most frequent causes for seeking otorhinolaryngologist's aid. In childhood, it affects the quality of life and learning, and during infancy - the overall development of the baby and its activities. In children complaining of difficult breathing, ENT specialist may identify either mechanical causes of partial or complete obstruction of the nasal cavity (nasal septum deviation, turbinate hypertrophy, adenoid vegetations, foreign bodies in the nasal cavity or nasopharynx, tumors of the nasal cavity or nasopharynx) or functional causes. The reasons are various diseases leading to swelling of the nasal mucosa and increased secretion. [1

Rational choice of antibiotic therapy in acute otitis media in children
The article examines the prevalence and incidence of acute otitis media (AOM) in children, the causes of the disease, the specific therapies, empirical approach to the prescription of antibacterial drugs, and the choice of antibiotics
Prospective lines of irrigation-elimination therapy
The authors reviewed the results of domestic studies of the therapeutic efficacy and preventive capabilities of the irrigationelimination therapy product line based on the seawater Aqualor. The article describes rationality and expediency of using these products in children and adults with various ENT pathologies. Particular attention is given to the possibility of using hypertonic saline solutions as an alternative to topical decongestants, especially in childhood
MODERN CAPABILITIES OF THERAPY OF POST-VIRAL RHINOSINUSITIS IN CHILDREN
The article focuses on the treatment of respiratory viral infections of the ENT organs in order to prevent complications and chronicity of the process. It provides the data on the efficacy of the use of polidexa with phenylephrine in paediatric patient with acute post-viral rhinosinusitis. The microbiological tests and changes observed in imprint smears from the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity showed that the drug reduces the clinical manifestations of the disease quickly and significantly, has a sanative effect and positively affects the quality of life of patients
Differentiated approach to irrigation and elimination therapy
Adequate performance of protective and other mechanisms of the nasal cavity is only possible in a reasonably clean environment, especially air. Deviation from the normal level of air content normally disturbs the functioning of the nasal cavity as organ. Long-term exposure to pathological components of air leads to organic disorders, in particular, to inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract. These disorders which include infectious rhinitis, rhinosinusitis, adenoiditis, and allergic rhinitis (AR), not only worsen the quality of life of patients, but often require surgical intervention for the purpose of treatment or preventing complications. Options for safe antibiotic treatment for acute otitis media in children
