Granulocytic Sarcoma as the First Sign of Acute Leukemia in Childhood
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) may rarely involve the orbit as a solid tumor termed granulocytic sarcoma. This report describes the case of a child who presented with rapidly progressive unilateral proptosis and was diagnosed as rhabdomyosarcoma. However subsequent examination of the peripheral blood film revealed AML. Thus proptosis may present as the initial manifestation of AML
Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada Syndrome in a 10 Years Old Child
The Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) syndrome is a rare systemic disorder of uveitis, dysacousia, vitiligo, premature graying of the hair, eyebrows and eyelashes, and meningoencephalitis. Although frequently unrecognised,VKH may affect children. We report a case of a 10 year old girl who presented with headache and dimness of vision and was diagnosed as papillitis on the basis of bilateral disc edema. However over the course of time developed skin changes (poliosis, vitiligo over lower back) and depigmented patches in inferior fundus suggesting diagnosis of VKH disease. Thus the diagnosis is difficult in the absence of extraocular manifestations. In such cases the diagnosis is based on clinical evolution of the disease

Matching model of flow table for networked big data
Networking for big data has to be intelligent because it will adjust data
transmission requirements adaptively during data splitting and merging.
Software-defined networking (SDN) provides a workable and practical paradigm
for designing more efficient and flexible networks. Matching strategy in the
flow table of SDN switches is most crucial. In this paper, we use a
classification approach to analyze the structure of packets based on the
tuple-space lookup mechanism, and propose a matching model of the flow table in
SDN switches by classifying packets based on a set of fields, which is called
an F-OpenFlow. The experiment results show that the proposed F-OpenFlow
effectively improves the utilization rate and matching efficiency of the flow
table in SDN switches for networked big data.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures, 2 table
The feeding behaviour and Plasmodium infection of Anopheles mosquitoes in southern Ethiopia in relation to use of insecticide-treated livestock for malaria control.
Anopheles arabiensis and An. quadriannulatus species B mosquitoes were collected at sites of human and livestock housing and analysed for blood feeding patterns and infection with malaria sporozoites. A low percentage of human blood meals at some sites suggested that zooprophylaxis could be effective in reducing challenge from Plasmodium falciparum
