The effect of peer education to anxiety of teenagers in post menarche in sub district Kasihan Bantul, Indonesia
Background: Menarche is an important event in puberty of teenagers. The coming of menarche often causes negative reactions and anxiety. Most teenagers get information about menarche from her friend so that the information obtained is not necessarily true and accurate. In order to reduce anxiety it should be given the right information with various methods and media. These raised our interest to determine the effect of peer education on adolescent anxiety post-menarche.Methods: A quasi experimental equivalent pre-post test control group design was used in this study with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Time of data retrieval was August-September 2014. Subject were classified into two groups that were treatment group was located in SMP Muhammadiyah and control group was located in SMP Mataram Kasihan region, district Bantul. The division of the group is done by raffle. Intervention for the treatment group of peer education and booklet. The total sample in this study was 86 adolescents post menarche taken by purposive sampling in accordance with the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The anxiety instrument being used TMAS (Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale). Analysis data: univariate, bivariate and qualitative analysis to strengthen the result of the study with indepth interview for 5 participants. Statistical test using chi square.Results: The result showed that percentage of respondents who experience anxiety when pre-test 43 (100%) and post-test was 34 (79.1%) versus 3 (7.0%). The result of chi square test with p value 0.000 (p<0.05) means that there was significant differences in anxiety reduction before and after a given peer education. The results of the qualitative analysis among teenagers after attending peer education told that they feeling happy, peer education reduced anxiety, confusion and fear because of peer education increased knowledge, provide an overview and motivation of the problems, means discussion, sharing stories and experiences.Conclusions: Peer education and booklet could reduce anxiety post menarche of teenagers.
Evaluating the Quality of Website Information of Private-Practice Clinics Offering Cell Therapies in Japan
A Comparative Analysis of Attitudes on Communication Toward Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine Between the Public and the Scientific Community.
Owing to the rapid progress in stem cell research (SCR) and regenerative medicine (RM), society's expectation and interest in these fields are increasing. For effective communication on issues concerning SCR and RM, surveys for understanding the interests of stakeholders is essential. For this purpose, we conducted a large‐scale survey with 2, 160 public responses and 1, 115 responses from the member of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine. Results showed that the public is more interested in the post‐realization aspects of RM, such as cost of care, countermeasures for risks and accidents, and clarification of responsibility and liability, than in the scientific aspects; the latter is of greater interest only to scientists. Our data indicate that an increased awareness about RM‐associated social responsibility and regulatory framework is required among scientists, such as those regarding its benefits, potential accidents, abuse, and other social consequences. Awareness regarding the importance of communication and education for scientists are critical to bridge the gaps in the interests of the public and scientists
A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) study of WEB-treated aneurysms: Can CFD predict WEB “compression” during follow-up?
Background Recent reports have revealed a worsening of aneurysm occlusion between WEB treatment baseline and angiographic follow-up due to “compression” of the device. Objective We utilized computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in order to determine whether the underlying mechanism of this worsening is flow related. Methods We included data from all consecutive patients treated in our institution with a WEB for unruptured aneurysms located either at the middle cerebral artery or basilar tip. The CFD study was performed using pre-operative 3D rotational angiography. From digital subtraction follow-up angiographies patients were dichotomized into two groups: one with WEB “compression” and one without. We performed statistical analyses to determine a potential correlation between WEB compression and CFD inflow ratio. Results Between July 2012 and June 2015, a total of 22 unruptured middle cerebral artery or basilar tip aneurysms were treated with a WEB device in our department. Three patients were excluded from the analysis and the mean follow-up period was 17 months. Eleven WEBs presented “compression” during follow-up. Interestingly, device “compression” was statistically correlated to the CFD inflow ratio (P = 0.018), although not to aneurysm volume, aspect ratio or neck size. Conclusion The mechanisms underlying the worsening of aneurysm occlusion in WEB-treated patients due to device compression are most likely complex as well as multifactorial. However, it is apparent from our pilot study that a high arterial inflow is, at least, partially involved. Further theoretical and animal research studies are needed to increase our understanding of this phenomenon

Safety and efficiency of the fifth generation Woven EndoBridge device: Technical note
Backround The treatment of wide neck bifurcation aneurysms remains challenging despite the introduction of new techniques (Y stenting, waffle cone technique, or flow diverter stents). The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device is an innovative solution for this type of cerebral aneurysm. A new WEB 17 is now available and has been designed to offer smaller sized devices to optimize navigability and delivery. Methods Between February 2017 and April 2018 all patients treated with the WEB 17 device in our center were retrospectively reviewed. 25 patients with 28 non-ruptured aneurysms were identified and analyzed. Three patients with two aneurysms both treated with the WEB device were identified. Results The device was successfully deployed in all cases. Procedure related morbidity was 4% and mortality was 0%. In one case, a delayed postprocedural thromboembolic event occurred owing to device protrusion. Technical success, complications, angiographic outcomes, procedural data, and follow-ups are reported. The modified Rankin Scale score at discharge was 0 for 24 patients (96%). At the 3, 6, or 9 month follow-up, angiograms were taken of 21 of the 25 patients (84%) (24 of 28 aneurysms had been controlled); 3 patients (3 aneurysms) did not receive angiographic follow-up at the time of submission of this work. Complete occlusion was achieved in 22 of 24 aneurysms (91.66%), and 2 of 24 aneurysm (8.33%) showed a neck remnant. Conclusions The WEB 17 is safe and technically feasible, according to this retrospective single center analysis. For very small bifurcation aneurysms, the WEB 17 seems to have lower complication rates than stent assisted techniques. However, further studies are needed to evaluate the complication rate and long term efficiency
