Autor analizuje poziom rozwoju turystycznego gmin województwa śląskiego i wskazuje obszary najlepiej rozwinięte turystycznie.The publication discusses the main indicators of the tourist function of area (i.e. Baretje-Defert’s index, Charvát’s index, Schneider’s index, Defert’s index etc.) and shows the possibility of their use in the assessment of development of tourism areas. The author analyzes the level of tourism development of communes in Silesia region and points best-developed tourist areas

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań ankietowych dotyczących oceny atrakcyjności trzech polskich uzdrowisk (Krynica, Polanica i Kołobrzeg). Analiza dotyczy zarówno próby oszacowania, które z cech wpływają najbardziej na ogólną ocenę atrakcyjności uzdrowiska, jak i tego, czy występują różnice w ocenach kuracjuszy z uzdrowisk będących na odmiennym poziomie rozwoju funkcji uzdrowiskowej oraz między kuracjuszami, którzy sami decydują o miejscu kuracji oraz za których zdecydowali inni.The publication presents the results of the survey concerning the evaluation of the attractiveness of the three Polish spas (Krynica, Polanica and Kolobrzeg). The analysis concerns both attempt to estimate which of the features affecting the total score of the attractiveness of the resort, as well as whether there are differences in the score of the visitors form spas who are at different stages of the development of spas function, and between the spa visitors, who themselves decided about location of treatment and this visitors who have not decided by themselves

Application of optimization methods in planning of patients accommodation in the spa companies

The aim of the article is to present the possibilities of using selected optimization methods to planning accommodation in spa establishments. Therefore, two methods of solving problems in the field of linear programming were used. The first is the north-west angle method, and the second is the Vogel's approximation method. The methods used so far in logistics in the field of planning a production program can be effectively used also in spa services and improving the efficiency of business models of spa enterprises

Realization of SPA function in health resorts of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship

Funkcja uzdrowiskowa jest jedną z zasadniczych funkcji turystycznych obszaru. Integruje ona zarówno działalność turystyczną z leczniczą, jak i cele społeczne i ekonomiczne. Zasadniczym celem artykułu jest charakterystyka potencjału oraz działalności podmiotów zlokalizowanych na obszarze województwa świętokrzyskiego w zakresie turystyki uzdrowiskowej oraz lecznictwa uzdrowiskowego. Autor omawia zasadnicze cechy obu świętokrzyskich uzdrowisk (Busko-Zdrój oraz Solec-Zdrój) w relacji do pozostałego potencjału uzdrowiskowego Polski. Zastosowane w artykule porównania poparto pomiarem potencjału uzdrowiskowego z zastosowaniem wskaźników funkcji turystycznej i uzdrowiskowej. Wnioski zawarte w pracy dotyczące turystyki i zdrowia publicznego wskazują na dominację uzdrowiska Busko-Zdrój zarówno pod względem leczniczym, jak i administracyjnym nad uzdrowiskiem Solec-Zdrój. Jednakże oba uzdrowiska różnią się od siebie pod względem specjalizacji turystycznej, gdyż Busko-Zdrój ukierunkowuje swoją działalność na lecznictwo uzdrowiskowe, natomiast w uzdrowisku Solec-Zdrój przeważają przyjazdy turystyczne.The spa is one of the essential functions of the tourist area. It integrates both the tourist activity, as well as social and economic objectives. The main aim of this article is to describe the potential and business entities located in the Kielce region in the field of health tourism and spa treatment. The author discusses the essential features of both spas of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship (Busko Zdroj and Solec Zdrój) in relation to the remaining potential of the Polish spa. The conclusions reached in the work on public health, tourism and show the dominance of Busko Zdroj, both in terms of healing, as well as the spa administrative. However, both the spa differ in terms of tourism specialization, as Busko Zdroj spa directs its activities on healthcare spa, while the spa Solec Zdroj prevail tourist arrivals

This article is a an attempt to draw attention to the psychological aspect of management in the context of the use of emotions to motivate the employee, co-worker or co-operator. The article refers to the three stories, in which author indicates on the importance of enthusiasm and creative activity in differentiated issues of management process. The last part of the work refers to achievements of Silesian University of Technology the aspect of education of managerial staff and so-called area of soft management. Examples presented in the work may be inspiration to study the transfer of enthusiasm as a form of motivation in management.Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą zwrócenia uwagi na aspekt psychologiczny w zarządzaniu w kontekście wykorzystania emocji, w celu motywowania pracownika, kooperanta lub współpracownika. Artykuł nawiązuje do trzech historii wskazujących na znaczenie entuzjazmu i kreatywnej aktywności w zróżnicowanych zagadnieniach procesu zarządzania. Ostatnia część pracy nawiązuje do osiągnięć Politechniki Śląskiej w aspekcie kształcenia kadr menedżerskich oraz tzw. zarządzania miękkiego. The aim of the article is to analyze the activities of health resorts enterprises in the context of necessary changes in the structure elements of spa business models. The classification basis of the perceived changes were literature factors stimulating the construction and reorganization of business models. The analysis of factors was based on literature reports and direct observation regarding the activities of spa enterprises.Celem artykułu jest dokonanie analizy działalności przedsiębiorstw uzdrowiskowych w kontekście koniecznych zmian w elementach struktury uzdrowiskowych modeli biznesowych. Order optimization of health resorts treatment using Palmer's algorithm as one of the key activities describing the business model

The aim of the article is to present one of the optimization methods of logistics processes, as solutions to improve operational efficiency in business models of spa enterprises. The author uses the Palmer's algorithm, using it to optimize the schedule of performing treatments in health resorts. The final result of the publication is the proposal to use the Palmer's algorithm with the author's amendment. The solution was supported by an example of using its for health resort treatments

Satisfaction from scientific research – review of scientific research

W artykule omówiono kluczowe kwestie dotyczące satysfakcji zawodowej pracowników nauki. Odniesiono się do wydajności pracy zawodowej akademików oraz ich obciążeń stresem, warunkami pracy. Autorzy odnoszą się w nim również do różnic w postrzeganiu tego zjawiska między kobietami i mężczyznami. Z badań wynika, iż czynnikiem, który pozytywnie wpływał na satysfakcję kadry akademickiej w Polsce, jest poczucie, że ich praca cieszy się uznaniem, natomiast negatywny wpływ miało – podobnie jak w przypadku badań międzynarodowych – nadmierne obciążenie obowiązkami dydaktycznymi oraz administracyjnymi. Niektóre z badań wykazały, że poziom zadowolenia polskich pracowników naukowych wzrasta wraz ze stażem pracy.The article discusses the key issues related to the science work satisfaction. It refers to the professional work of the researchers and their stressors, working conditions. Authors also refer to a differences in the perception of this phenomenon between men and women. Research shows that a factor that positively influences the satisfaction of academic staff in Poland is the sense that their work is appreciated, while the negative impact was due to the excessive burden on teaching and administrative duties. Some studies have shown that the level of satisfaction of Polish academics increases with the increase in work experience

Praca porusza zagadnienie ograniczenia potencjału leczniczego w uzdrowiskach w kontekście procesu prywatyzacji spółek uzdrowiskowych.The publication presents the characteristics of Polish spa enterprises through the prism of economic results underlying the selection of companies for privatization, and those that remain under full state control. Work also recognizes problem of reducing the size of the medicinal potential of spas in the context of the privatization process of health resort companies
