Green Building Index Malaysia is a profession driven initiative to lead the property industry
of Malaysia towards becoming more environmental friendly. To do this, they have introduced
Green Building Index (M) Assessment Criteria for Residential New Construction for new
residential construction to be built to be more environmental friendly. Vernacular architecture
is a term used to categorize methods of construction which use locally available resources
and traditions to address local needs. 4 building types, one including modern terrace house,
while the others are vernacular architecture, are chosen so that it can be assessed by GBI (M)
Assessment Criteria and scored accordingly to find out which one scores the highest. The
feasibility of the assessment tools are also taken into consideration as this project is assessing
existing buildings and not new construction. Some modifications are done to the assessment
tools to make it more suitable to the project. The results firom the project show that vernacular
buildings scores much higher than the modern terrace house. This shows that vernacular
residential buildings are much more environmental friendly than modernterrace house

Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Keliling dan Luas Bangun Datar dengan Model Discovery Learning di SD
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar keliling dan luas bangun datar dengan model Discovery Learning di kelas IV SDN 04 Garegeh Kota Bukittinggi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, dimana siklus I terdiri dari 2x pertemuan dan siklus II terdiri dari 1x pertemuan. Subjek penelitian adalah guru dan peserta didikkelas IV sebanyak 24 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siklus I pertemuan I pada RPP rata-rata 80,55% (baik), meningkat pada siklus I Pertemuan II menjadi 86,11% (baik), meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 94,44% (sangat baik). Pelaksanaan siklus I pertemuan I pada aktivitas guru rata-rata 78,13% (cukup), meningkat pada siklus I pertemuan II menjadi 84,38% (baik), meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 93,75% (sangat baik). Pelaksanaan siklus I pertemuan I pada aktivitas peserta didik rata-rata 78,13% (cukup), meningkat pada siklus I pertemuan II menjadi 81,25% (baik), meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 93,75% (sangat baik). Hasil belajar peserta didik pada siklus I pertemuan I rata-rata 62,86 (C+), meningkat pada siklus I pertemuan II menjadi 69,32 (B-), meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 77,92 (B+). Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Discovery Learningdapat meningkatkan hasil belajar keliling dan luas bangun datar di Sekolah Dasar
Effects of lime in combination with water level toward soil chemical properties and paddy growth performance grown on acidic soil / Muhammad Syafri Famin Ahmad Azli
A glasshouse study was conducted to determine the effect of lime application rate in combination with water level on soil pH, aluminium (Al) concentration and nutrient availability. The second aim of the study is to determine the optimum combination of lime rate application and water level on paddy growth. Two factors were used for the study which are three lime application rate (no lime application, 1 t/ha CaCO3 and 2 t/ha CaCO3) and two water level (3-5 cm above soil surface and 8-10 cm above soil surface).The preliminary results of the research showed that soil available Al and soil available Ca were significantly different among the treatment. The lowest soil available Al mean was 65.14 mg/kg for treatment L3W2 (2 t/ha CaCO3 and 8-10 cm water level). Meanwhile, the highest mean for soil available Ca was 1061 mg/kg for treatment L3W2. Furthermore, the soil pH result show no significant but the highest mean soil pH was 5.43 for treatment L3W2.The optimum combination of lime application rate and water level was treatment L3W2 with highest soil pH value, highest available Ca and lowest available Al as compared to other treatments
Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Siswa pada Pembelajaran Tematik Terpadu Menggunakan Model Discovery Learning di Kelas V SDN 05/ III Hiang Tinggi
Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan pada pembelajaran tematik terpadu adalah model discovery learning. Proses pembelajaran yang menggunakan model discovery learning diharapkan dapat membuat siswa memperoleh hasil belajar yang baik. Model discovery learning merupakan model pembelajaran yang mana siswa menemukan sendiri konsep atau materi yang dipelajari dan guru tidak memberitahu siswa secara utuh konsep atau materi yang dipelajari. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester I tahun ajaran 2020/2021, dikelas V SDN 05/ III Hiang Tinggi. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, yang dilaksanakan dengan dua siklus. Siklus I dilakukan dengan 2 kali pertemuan dan siklus II dilakukan 1 kali pertemuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pada RPP siklus I 77,75% (C), siklus II 94,4% (SB). Pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran aktivitas guru siklus I 79,15% (C), siklus II meningkat menjadi 96,8% (SB) dan aktivitas siswa siklus I 79,15% (C), siklus II meningkat menjadi 96,8% (SB). Hasil belajar siswa siklus I 69,95 (B-), siklus II meningkat menjadi 87,75 (A). Dengan demikian model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran tematik terpadu di kelas V SDN 05/ III Hiang Tingg
Effect of rice husk surface modification by LENR on the mechanical properties of NR/HDPE reinforced rice husk composite
Surface modification of rice husk (RH) with alkali pre-treatment (NaOH solution 5% w/v) was carried out at the initial state to investigate the effect of surface treatment of fibre on the surface interaction between fibre and rubber. Further modification of RH surfaces after alkali treatment was using Liquid Epoxidized Natural Rubber (LENR) coating at three concentrations, 5%, 10%, and 20% wt LENR solution in toluene. Interfacial morphology and chemical reactions between RH fibre and rubber were analyzed by FTIR and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). It was found that 10% wt LENR solution gave the optimum interaction between fibre and rubber. Matrix and composite blends derived from 60% natural rubber (NR), 40% high density polyethylene (HDPE) reinforced with RH fibre were prepared using an internal mixer (Brabender Plasticoder). Result showed that pre-treatment of RH treated with 5% NaOH followed by treatment with 10% LENR solution given the maximum interaction between fibre and matrix that gave rise to better mechanical properties of the composites

The Impacts of the Inquiry Learning Model and Learning Motivation on Fraction Problem-Solving Ability in Elementary Schools
This research was quasi-experimental with a population of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 06 Lasi Mudo and SD Negeri 08 Kubang Duo, Canduang District. Research data was obtained from test results and questionnaires. In addition, data analysis indicated a significant difference in the ability to solve Fraction problems between the inquiry and conventional models. The results of data analysis using the two-way ANOVA test obtained a sig value of 0.04 < 0.05 indicated a significant difference in learning outcomes between the inquiry and conventional models in learning motivation, but for low motivation, the sig. of 0.746>0.05 concluded that there was no significant influence between the inquiry model and learning motivation. The test results of learning models and learning motivation on Fraction problem-solving abilities through the two-way ANOVA test obtained an f-count of 3.123 with an F-table of 4.034. It showed no interaction happened between inquiry, conventional learning models, and learning motivation in Fraction problem-solving abilities in elementary schools
