    Get PDF
Internal audits play an important role in risk mitigation, security governance, and information assurance in an organization. This research presents a processual model to conceptualize the audit function in an organization by addressing three fundamental questions about internal audits: what, why and how? The proposed model suggests that internal audits are an integral part of overall security governance and thus of an information assurance program in an organization

The present investigation was carried out to study the effects of Bio fertilizers, Chemical Fertilizers and Vermicompost and their combination on the Productivity of Andrographis paniculata. The experiment  was  conducted  in a  randomized block design (RBD) with 8 treatments i.e. T1-NT, T2- VC, T3-BF, T4-CF, T5-BF+VC, T6-BF+CF, T7 - CF +  VC, T8 - BF+CF+VC. The experimental results revealed that maximum fresh and dried weight of root, shoot and leaves individually as well as total weight of all the parts and maximum seed yield was obtained in T8 treatments followed by T5 plot treatment. Thus it can be concluded that integrated combination of organic manures along with BF and CF results into improved plant productivity and seed yield

A Framework for Integrating Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance into the Systems Development Process

    Get PDF
The Sarbanes-Oxley Act introduces a new set of requirements into software development. Corporations need to assess their internal control effectiveness for business processes to show compliance with the act. This paper proposes a conceptual framework for integrating Sarbanes-Oxley compliance needs into software development by mapping the activities of an established framework for internal controls to the various workflows of the systems development process. Theoretical and practical contributions are discussed and future research directions are explored

DEFINING VALUE BASED INFORMATION SECURITY GOVERNANCE OBJECTIVES

    Get PDF
This research argues that the information security governance objectives should be grounded in the values of organizational members. Research literature in decision sciences suggest that individual values play an important role in developing decision objectives. Information security governance objectives, based on values of the stakeholders, are essential for a comprehensive security control program. The study uses Value Theory as a theoretical basis and value focused thinking as a methodology to develop 23 objectives for information security governance. A case study was conducted to reexamine and interpret the significance of the proposed objectives in an organizational context. The results suggest three emergent dimensions of information security governance for effective control structure in organizations: resource allocation, user involvement and process integrity. The synthesis of data suggests eight principles of information security governance which guides organizations in achieving a comprehensive security environment. We also present a means-end model of ISG which proposes the interrelationships of the developed objectives. Contributions are noted and future research directions suggested

A Survey of Social Media Usage Integrating Daily Facebook Participation Time with In-Person Social Interaction among College Undergraduate Students

    Get PDF
The initial stage of this academically-sanctioned research study gathered basic demographic information from a selected sample of university undergraduate students in an array of courses administered by faculty members and research members of this study. The stated questions elicited student responses in twenty-four aspects of the social networking spectrum involving student opinions, concerns, attitudes, practices, personal participation and usage parameters. The research model is based on the resulting relationship of the dependent variable, which is the frequency of Facebook usage, and the independent variables of religion/ethnicity, academic major, access device, and employment status. From these data, four null hypotheses were developed and tested. Usage hours were compared and correlated across the four independent variables. Conclusions were statistically derived, resulting in the retention of two null hypotheses, and the rejection of two null hypothesis.
