One Belt One Road Initiative: Benefits the Malay Archipelago Logistic and Culture

This article aims to identify the importance of linguistic culture and logistic aspects and its relevance to One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative in the Malay Archipelago. The objective of the writing focuses on three aspects, which are, linguistics and logistics as business generator, linguistics and logistics as a diplomatic channel and ultimately linguistics and logistics as a medium of humanitarian mission during natural disaster. This study applies qualitative approaches through close reading techniques based on previous findings in several journals that examined logistic and linguistic aspects.  The scope of the research is based on the impact of OBOR inspired by The Great Wall of China to the countries in the Malay Archipelago especially Malaysia, Indonesia and its surroundings. The findings suggest that OBOR initiative will open countless business and employment opportunities, strengthen regional diplomatic ties and play a role in facilitating humanitarian missions. However, these elements will not be effective if linguistics and logistics are not systematically and consistently applied. It is hoped that this writing would be a reference for language researchers, logistics experts and business people, especially those who are looking at the prospects of OBOR initiatives in the Malay Archipelago

Penglibatan komuniti dalam pemuliharaan warisan di Lembah Lenggong, Perak

Lembah Lenggong adalah salah satu tapak arkeologi yang penting dalam kalangan ahli arkeologi setelah mendapat pengiktirafan dari The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) pada 2012. Data arkeologi yang ditemui di Lembah Lenggong membuktikan bahawa daerah kecil ini telah menjadi antara penyumbang penting dalam warisan yang ada di Malaysia. Bagi memastikan warisan bangsa dapat dipertahankan maka, komuniti setempat perlu memainkan peranan proaktif dalam menyokong usaha pihak bertanggungjawab. Justeru, makalah ini bertujuan mengenalpasti penglibatan komuniti setempat di kawasan tinjauan di Lembah Lenggong. Kaedah tinjauan dengan pemerhatian di lapangan digunakan sebagai kaedah kajian. Data dianalisis dengan pendekatan analisis kandungan. Kerangka Tangga Penyertaan (Ladder of Participation) yang dikemukakan oleh Arnstein (1969) dijadikan panduan dalam menganalisis penglibatan komuniti bagi kajian ini. Hasil tinjauan di lapangan mendapati, terdapat empat warisan tidak ketara yang menjadi identiti bagi daerah Lembah Lenggong iaitu makanan warisan Kebebe, Cendol Sagu Rumbia, dialek Melayu Patani dan pembuatan atap rumbia. Kajian ini juga membuktikan komuniti setempat proaktif dalam melestarikan warisan yang terdapat di kawasan mereka. Penyertaan komuniti setempat dalam pemuliharaan warisan dilihat berpotensi memberi kesan positif kepada perkembangan ekonomi dan sosial setempat
