THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN CHINUA ACHEBE’S THINGS FALL APART -
From the start, the part of ladies in Chinua Achebe's "Things Fall Apart" may give off an impression of being unjustifiably restricted regarding their position and force. Individuals have not given a lot of consideration to it past obliging the suspicion that this novel presents ladies as a tragically persecuted bunch with no force. This expectation may give off an impression of being correct, yet after digging underneath this deluding surface, one can see that the ladies of the tribe hold some incredible positions. Subsequently, this article is an endeavor to show the significant part of ladies both in family and in African man centric culture. The ladies' ground-breaking positions in the family manage their capacities, for example profoundly as the priestess, emblematically as the earth goddess, and in a real sense as the nurturers of the Ibo public, the guardians of the sweet potato crops and the moms and instructors of the Ibo kids
Performance Evaluation of Face Recognition Algorithms
Biometric - based techniques have emerged for recognizing individuals instead of using passwords, PINs, smart cards, plastic cards, tokens etc fo r authenticating people . Automated face recognition has become a major field of interest. In this field several facial recognition algorithms have been explored in the past few decades . A face recognition system is expected to identify faces present in images and videos automatically. The input to the facial recognition system is a two dimensional image, while the system distinguishes the input image as a users face from a pre - determined library of faces. Finally, the output is a discerned face image. This paper deals wi th the comparison of two popular dimensionality reduction algorithms such as PCA and LDA. Here, our main goal is to evaluate the performance of Principal Component Analysis and Linear Discriminant Analysis for large training data set. Finally, we concluded that LDA outperforms PCA for the large samples of training set
MICROENCAPSULATION OF ASTAXANTHINUSING IONOTROPIC GELATION METHOD ISOLATED FROM THREE CRAB VARIETIES
Objective: The objective of the present study was to prepare microencapsulated astaxanthin isolated from three crab varieties.
Methods: Astaxanthin was isolated from Portunus sanguinolentus (Three Spotted Crab), Callinectes sapidus (Blue Crab), and Paralithodes brevipes (Spiny King Crab) using hexane: isopropanol and microencapsulated astaxanthin were prepared by 2% sodium alginate and 3% calcium chloride using ionotropic gelation method. The prepared microsphere was evaluated for SEM analysis, drug content, and encapsulation efficiency and swelling studies.
Results: The microspheres obtained were heterogeneous in size, round shaped with smooth surface and with no obvious dents. The practical drug content varied between 35.25 mg to 42.21 mg. The encapsulation efficiency was found to be higher in blue crab (90.42 %) when compared with other crab varieties along with astaxanthin standard. The result showed that the swelling ratio at pH 1.2 was lesser than at pH 7.4.
Conclusion: Thus the result gained revealed that the microencapsulated astaxanthin could support the concept of sustained release in drug therapy
Alzheimer’s And Parkinson’s Disease Classification Using Deep Learning Based On MRI: A Review
Neurodegenerative disorders present a current challenge for accurate diagnosis and for providing precise prognostic information. Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD), may take several years to obtain a definitive diagnosis. Due to the increased aging population in developed countries, neurodegenerative diseases such as AD and PD have become more prevalent and thus new technologies and more accurate tests are needed to improve and accelerate the diagnostic procedure in the early stages of these diseases. Deep learning has shown significant promise in computer-assisted AD and PD diagnosis based on MRI with the widespread use of artificial intelligence in the medical domain. This article analyses and evaluates the effectiveness of existing Deep learning (DL)-based approaches to identify neurological illnesses using MRI data obtained using various modalities, including functional and structural MRI. Several current research issues are identified toward the conclusion, along with several potential future study directions
A Study on Customers Attitude Towards Advertising Media with Special Reference to Coimbatore City
Advertising is a measure of the growth of civilization and an indication of the striving of the human race for betterment and perfection. An assessment of the role of advertising in the economic system includes its role as a guide to prospective buyers for innovative products and services, for creating autonomous and derived demand among consumers, for facilitating them to make product differentiation and in the creation of higher propensity to consume such items besides providing financial support to the media. Media effects of advertising are visible from its influence on the efficiency of production and distribution, lowering of prices, economic well-being, improvements in the product quality and finally in its contribution to the national income. It also helps people and organizations to find each other and create or sustain thousands of jobs, both in advertising agencies and in various promotion 1 and exhibition industries
Is women’s economic empowerment really worthwhile to the men counterpart?
Compared to the earlier decade’s women are increasingly entering the workforce particularly in the professional works and organized sectors still there remains a large number of invisible women workers in unorganized sectors. Today, many women have established their own economy i.e., entrepreneurial empire and are now ruling their world as they wished to. According to the World Bank 2011 report women perform 66 percent of the world’s work, produce 50 percent of the food, but earn 10 percent of the income and own 1 percent of the property. Women usually invest a higher proportion of their earnings in their families and communities than men. Women are becoming empowered in various fields, though still inequality between men and women runs across the board, including in education, economic opportunities, representation in governance, family life and other fields also. Hence the present study aims to identify men’s perception towards women economic empowerment
Measurement and Comparision of Bracket Transfer Accuracy of Five Indirect Bonding Techniques: An In Vitro study
AIM :
To measure and compare bracket transfer accuracy of five
indirect bonding ( IDB) techniques.
MATERIALS AND METHODS :
Five groups were studied. In each group 10 working models and 10
study models are taken.
Group I – PolyVinyl Si loxane (PVS – Putty),
Group II – Single Vacuum Form (Single -VF),
Group III – Clear Polyvinyl Si loxane (PVS-Clear),
Group IV - Double Vacuum Form - Double VF,
Group V – Polyvinyl Si loxane (Clear) Vacuum form (PVS-VF).
Brackets were bonded on 50 identical stone working models (10
per technique) . IDB t rays were fabricated to transfer brackets to
another 50 identical stone study models (10 per technique) . The
MesioDistal (M-D: x-axis) , OcclusoGingival (O-G: y-axis) , and
BuccoLingual (B-L: z-axis) positions of each bracket are measured
using the Photographic and Caliper measurements.
RESULTS :
When the techniques were compared, bracket transfer accuracy
was similar for PVS-VF, PVS-Clear, and PVS putty, whereas Double -
VF showed significantly less accuracy in the O-G direct ion. Single VF
was less accurate in al l three direct ions (M-D, O-G & B-L) .
CONCLUSION :
Based on the findings of the present study, overall differences in
bracket position were relatively small . Silicone-based trays had
consistently high accuracy in transferring brackets, whereas methods
that exclusively used vacuum- formed t rays were less consistent
