CUSTOMER SATISFACTION TOWARDS HOSPITALS A STUDY ON SELECTED HOSPITALS AT SHIVAMOGGA CITY The opening of Indian economy since 1991 has given a new dimension to the economic structure of the country. The service sector is contributing more than 50% to the GDP. In service sector the contribution of healthcare sector towards GDP is significant.  India will spend a huge          Rs 200,000 crore on healthcare in the next five years as the country witnessing changes in its demographic profile accompanied with lifestyle diseases and increasing medical expenses. Nearly 80 per cent of the required investment is coming from the private sector. The government spending on healthcare is around 0.9 per cent of the total GDP, which limits the extent and effectiveness of the coverage it can provide. Private healthcare will continue to be the largest component in 2012 and is likely to double to    Rs 156,000 crore.  Therefore the study focuses on services provided by private hospitals.   Â

The corona-19 pandemic has pervaded into every nook & corner of the world. Since the entire globe has announced lockdown for uncertain period, the commercial activity has pushed the indicators of economic health in a state of depression. A multi-centered approach is the need of the hour to take the economy out of this crisis. In India on May 12th, the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, announced a special economic package of Rs 20 lakh crore with the aim of making the country independent against the tough competition in the global supply chain and to help in empowering the people who have been adversely affected by COVID. In order to achieve this vision, India needs to focus on holistic and sustainable development. The formation of SHGs is a holistic program with an objective to bring the rural entrepreneurs in a platform and encourage them to initiate innovation. This research paper makes an attempt to study the potentialities of Self Help Group ( SHGs) in strengthening economy of India to support Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan

Experiments cop.ducted at Sakaleshpur (Karnataka, India) to study the effect of different methods of planting and spacing on growth and yield of cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) indicated that trench method of planting (60 cm x 30 cm) at 2 m x 1 m spacing resulted in significantly better growth and yield. &nbsp

Seasonal population of cardamom thrips (Sciothrips cardamomi (Ramk.) on three cultivar types of cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum Maton)

The seasonal population of cardamom thrips (Sciothrips cardamomi) and its damage to capsules was assessed on three Cllitivar types (Malabar, Vazhukka and Mysore) of cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) at Saklespur (Karnataka, India) during 1990-92. Thrips population was high during pre-and post-monsoon periods in all the cultivar types. There were significant differences in thrips damage on the capsules in the three cultivar types. There was no significant correlation between abiotic factors and thrips population. The cultivar type Malabar, mainly grown in Karnataka, recorded about 50% less damage than the other cultivar types. Mean thrips damage on capsules during the three years of study in Malabar, Vazhukka and Mysore cultivam types were 28.44%, 57.92% and 62.55%, respectively. &nbsp

An experiment was conducted to find out the optimal incubation temperature and ideal season for sowing cardamom (Elettaria cardalilomum) seeds to achieve better and uniform germination. Germination parameters were studied during September-October, December-January and February-March 1989-91. An incubation temperature of 30°C recorded good germination during all the three seasons. However, seeds kept at ambient temperature during September - October resulted in best germination compared to 30°C. There was no significant difference in germination between seed sizes used. &nbsp

Effect of pruning mother suckers on daughter sucker production in cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum M.) seedlings

The effect of pruning mother suckers on daughter sucker production, growth and development of nursery seedlings of cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) is reported. The number of suckers produced was significantly higher in seedlings pruned at 5 months of age followed by seedlings pruned at 3 months of age. The study indicated that pruning was not helpful in in creasing biomass and hence it may not be necessary to remove apical meristem (mother sucker pruning) before transplanting of nursery seedlings. &nbsp
