Corporate Identity, from Allegorical Discourse to Storytelling. An Approach in terms of Discursive Models

    Get PDF
In this paper, we examine two discursive models that an organization may use to build and promote its identity image, namely the signature-discourse and the storytelling-discourse. Our aim is to specify the place and role of each of these two models, as well as the important function that the storytelling-discourse performs in the understanding of the signature-discourse and in revealing symbolic meanings and the ways to access them. The starting point of our study is the finding, which occurred in the teaching process, that first the perception and then the deciphering of the meaning of the signature-discourse involves a higher degree of difficulty. We believe that the association the two discursive approaches proves its usefulness, since storytelling corroborates the semantic interpretation of the signature-discourse and thereby the identification and assimilation of certain theoretical landmarks related to the construction of such a discourse. Another aspect that is worth mentioning is the achievement, in time, of continuity and coherence of the organization’s identity image. Our approach is based on investigation tools specific to communication sciences: elements of discourse analysis, and analysis of visual communication, which we use especially with the text but we will also discuss the construction of the visual message

The paper’s objective is the scientific foundation of the necessity to implement the topic of creative economy in Romania. The term of creative economy is widely used in the context of the knowledge-based society. Its importance to sustainable development, wealth and prosperity is commonly recognised mostly due to the amplified crisis effects. The creative communities and industries have moved from the fringes to the mainstream. The special needs of creative industries are reflected more in policy development at national, regional and microeconomic levels. The paper presents part of the results obtained within the research project “IDEI 1224”: “The creative economy and knowledge-based society. Challenges and opportunities for Romania” The general perspective of this paper is aimed at presenting our vision regarding the most important challenges and opportunities for Romania on its road towards a knowledge-based society and creative economy. Creative economy is crucial for Romania while it is facing the global crisis. In order to manage the current crisis (its complex nature derives from the fact that it is much more than just an economic crisis) in a competent way we have to seriously take into account the opportunities creative economy can provide. According to the authors’ vision, creative economy is a feasible option for Romania. The creative economy has to foster a holistic vision of development including socio-cultural, economic and environmental dimensions, offering new opportunities for Romania on its road towards a knowledge-based society.creative economy, creative class, creative communities, creative cities

At present, the cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are among the major concerns of World Health Organization (WHO), assurance health systems and researchers in the specific field, because they are the number one cause of deaths globally, and according to several perspective studies, they will become the pathology that generates the greatest economic burden worldwide, through morbidity, disability, poor quality of life, and cause of death. Nowadays, the psychic field and the vulnerability of individual mental level to stress are an important link in the development of mental illness, CVD (included in the group of psychosomatic disorders), and also of interrelationship between them. The combined effects of these factors are reflected in the behavioral and cardiovascular (CV) system’s pathophysiological changes, which determine the impairment of health-related quality of life for the CV patients, on both short-term and long-term. This chapter aims to address both the interrelationship of psychosocial factors with CVD in terms of its multifactorial etiology and the mark of this bidirectional link on the quality of life of the patients. In several sections, the following issues will be described: general aspects regarding the relationship between homeostasis-stress-pathology; the role of stress as a psychosocial factor in the multifactorial etiology of CVD; the implications of mental disorders in the pathogenesis of CVD; behavioral aspects of CV patient during his illness, and strategies for improving therapeutic adherence and the quality of life of these patients

Quantifying Economic Performance: Forecasting in the Romanian Clothing Industry

    Get PDF
This econometric modeling emphasizes quantifying various economic phenomena, particularly that which is diverse and unpredictable, as it provides important support to managers. Our approach aims to achieve an econometric multiple regression model to analyze economic performance through a case study conducted on a sample of 107 entities in the clothing industry in Romania. We considered Net Profit as a dependent variable and Fixed Assets, Current Assets, Equity, and Number of Employees as independent variables. The 4 hypotheses proposed were measured, tested, and validated using EViews software with multiple linear regression. The results of the model have been validated as econometric, so we believe that they provide useful predictions regarding analysis of the economic performance in the clothing industry in Romania

The Reaction of some Maize Hybrids, Created at ARDS TURDA, to Fusarium spp. Infection

The most important disease of maize in Romania are stalk and ear rot, which caused yield losses in average of 20%. The resistant hibrids represent one of the most efficient solution for reducing the field loses caused by Fusarium spp. on the maize (Nagy et al., 2006). Diseases caused by Fusarium spp. can affect the yield and grain quality of maize because of contamination with numerous mycotoxins produced by these fungi (Czembor et al., 2015). The purpose of this paper was to know more about the reaction of different maize hybrids to Fusarium and the evaluating the effect of ear rot on the yield ability and mycotoxins accumulation. The experiments carried out at ARDS Turda, during four years (2012-2015). The biological material was represented by 8 hybrids, from different maturity groups, tested in two infection conditions with Fusarium spp. (natural and artificial infections). The temperature and rainfalls of the four years of experiments corresponding to the vegetation of maize (april-september) are influenced favourably the pathogenesis of stalk and ear rot caused by Fusarium spp. and a good discrimination of the resistance reaction of genotypes. Fusarium ear rot has significantly affected production capacity and chemical composition of corn hybrids tested. In conditions of artificial infection with Fusarium spp. was a decrease in the content of starch, fat and increased protein content compared with artificially inoculated variants. The quantity of fumonizin B1+B2 has reached to 5630 μg/kg in conditions of artificial infection. There are negative correlations between production capacity and degree of attack of fusarium ear rot; depending on the reacting genotypes tested increasing disease causes production decrease. The response of maize hybrids to Fusarium infection is influenced by infection and climatic conditions. These factors affect production both in terms of quantity and quality and accumulation of mycotoxins

This article examines the phenomenon of interculturality through the lens of the Liang Zhu Concerto for Violin and Orchestra by He Zhanhao and Chen Gang. Interculturality is no longer merely a means of elevating the axiological value of a given context but has become a necessity for authenticating contemporary discourse. The role of interculturality in shaping the expression of creative intentions is amplified, as it attenuates divergences determined by the incongruity of individuals’ backgrounds by comprehensively observing the uniqueness of foreign elements from a familiarity-based perspective. The Liang Zhu Violin Concerto exemplifies the adaptation of East Asian culture to the context of the Western language and means of expression while preserving its Chinese cultural identity. This concerto has significant value and desirability for consumption due to the proportion of originality and familiarity which it upholds and determines its overall appeal. Ultimately, this article aims to explore how the Liang Zhu Violin Concerto achieves originality at a global level while preserving its Chinese cultural identity
