Contribución de la Disciplina Estomatología Integral al Análisis de la Situación de Salud Bucal

El futuro estomatólogo debe estar preparado para realizar el Análisis de la Situación de Salud Bucal de la población, por lo que las asignaturas del currículo deben contribuir al aprendizaje para realizarlo. Objetivo. Describir la contribución de las asignaturas de la Disciplina Estomatología Integral del Plan D de la Carrera de Estomatología al aprendizaje para realizar el Análisis de la Situación de Salud Bucal. Método. Se realizó una investigación pedagógica con enfoque cualitativo. Las unidades de análisis fueron los programas de las asignaturas de la Disciplina, se revisaron el sistema de objetivos, conocimientos, habilidades, evaluación y la estrategia curricular de investigación. Resultados. Siete de las veinte asignaturas contribuyen de manera explícita al aprendizaje para el Análisis de la Situación de Salud. Las asignaturas Introducción a la Estomatología General, Promoción de salud, Prevención en estomatología y Epidemiología en Estomatología aportan los conocimientos relacionados con el tema, Atención integral a la familia II, III y a la comunidad lo orientan, realizan, ejecutan y evalúan lo que posibilita la formación de la habilidad. Las asignaturas restantes contribuyen al conocimiento y habilidad para el diagnóstico de los problemas de salud. Conclusión. Las asignaturas de la Disciplina Estomatología Integral contribuyen al aprendizaje para la realizar el Análisis de la Situación de Salud Bucal, sin embargo el desarrollo de las habilidades investigativas es insuficiente, lo que se convierte en la dificultad fundamental en esta investigación de intervención comunitaria.Palabras clave: Disciplina Estomatología Integral / Análisis de la Situación de Salud Bucal/ Aprendizaje/ Carrera de Estomatología/Plan DABSTRACTIntroduction: The future deontologist should be prepared to do the oral health situation analysis of the population, because of that the subjects of the curriculum must contribute to learn how to perform it. Objective: To describe the contribution of the subjects included in the Comprehensive Dentistry disciplines in the Plan D of the Dentistry career to the learning process of how to perform the oral health situation analysis. Material and Methods: A pedagogical research was conduct with a qualitative focus. The analysis units were the programs of the disciplines subjects, the objectives, knowledge, the abilities and the evaluation systems were analyze, and the research curricular strategy was study. Results: Seven of the twenty subjects contribute in an explicit way to the learning of the oral health situation analysis. The subjects Introduction of the Comprehensive Dentistry, Health Promotion, and Prevention in Dentistry and Epidemiology in Dentistry give the knowledge related with the topic, Comprehensive Attention to the Family II, III and Comprehensive Attention to the Community guide, perform and evaluate what make possible the formation of the ability in the students. The remaining subjects contribute to the knowledge and the ability to perform the diagnosis of the health problems.  Conclusions: The subjects of the Comprehensive Dentistry discipline contribute to the learning process to perform the oral health situation analysis; however their systemic conception should be perfected in the discipline so that the student assimilates and exercise the methodology better to execute this type of projects of community intervention.Key Words: Comprehensive Dentistry Discipline.
