CHANGES IN PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL STATE OF PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS CHANGES WITH ANTI-TUBERCULOSIS CHEMOTHERAPY ACCOMPANIED BY PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT

The article describes the investigation of psychological and emotional state of pulmonary tuberculosis patients belonging to various categories having in-patient treatment. The patients who referred to the psychologist for help while having anti-tuberculosis treatment manifested worse psychological dysfunctions compared to the patients who did not require psychological care. After psychological counseling the  patients manifested less destructive behavior and  psychological problems and  the  increase in  the  life quality as per the number of various scores. The positive changes in psychological state of the patients from the main group were confirmed by the elimination of the preceding confident di`erences in rates compared to the patients from comparison group regarding certain parameters of nervous psychological stability. EVALUATION OF PSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM RESPIRATORY TUBERCULOSIS AND RECEIVING ANTI-TUBERCULOSIS THERAPY

The study evaluated specific actual psychological status in 34 children at the age from 9 to 12 years old at various stages before the start of anti-tuberculosis therapy. Manifestations of asthenia were observed in the field of the task performance and cognitive function: reduction in the scope and accuracy of the active attention, low tempo of task performance, exhaustion, anergia of mnestic function. In the actual emotional state the expressed stress, high level of excitation and neurophysic stress and low energetic potential were observed. On the average in 8 months of anti-tuberculosis therapy significant changes were observed including both positive and negative shifts in the psychological state of the children. The obtained data provide the evidence on the integral nature of disorders caused by synergy of biological and psychosocial factors
