Eifriger als Zwingli | Die frühe Täuferbewegung in der Schweiz

In der Frühphase der Schweizer Reformation entstand das Täufertum als eine radikalreformerische religiöse Bewegung. Andrea Strübind stellt in ihrer Habilitation theologische Lehrbildung, Trägerkreise sowie die führenden Protagonisten in ihrem Verhältnis zu Zwingli und anderen Reformatoren vor. Die detaillierte Untersuchung der Hauptschriften der frühen Täufer und anderer täuferischer Quellen sowie des Aktenmaterials führt zu neuen Erkenntnissen über diese frühreformatorische Bewegung.Das Täufertum zeichnet sich durch die hohe Bedeutung der Selbstorganisation als Lern- und Lebensgemeinschaft aus. In freien Bibelkreisen entwickelte sich ein Selbstbewußtsein, das auf ein eigenständiges Urteilsvermögen in Lehrfragen pochte. Es wurde die Gleichberechtigung der Glaubenden, einen an der Bibel gewonnenen rituellen Reduktionismus und eine spirituelle Erlebnisfrömmigkeit propagiert und praktiziert. Aus diesem Grund lautete ein später verbreitetes Urteil über die Täufer, sie seien »eifriger als Zwingli«.Ausgangspunkt der Darstellung ist der methodologische Paradigmenwechsel innerhalb der Geschichtswissenschaft und dessen bedeutsame Auswirkungen auf die Täuferforschung. Strübind vertritt hier einen integrativen Forschungsansatz, der die Bedeutung theologischer Motivationen mit den Ergebnissen der gesellschaftsgeschichtlichen Forschung sachgemäß verbindet
