Roads Scholar Tours: A Marketing Tool for Building Strong Campus/Community Relationships
Roads Scholar Tours are a marketing tool guaranteed to build strong campus/community relationships for any land-grant university. The tours give campus-bound colleagues an opportunity to actively engage with Extension faculty and staff, volunteers, learners, and community leaders. Over the years, the tours have earned prestige through the selective nature of the invitation and the high quality experience. Scholars report 1) increased understanding of Extension\u27s vision, mission and values, and 2) incorporation of what they learned about Extension into their campus assignments
Jovian protons and electrons: Pioneer 11
A preliminary account of the Pioneer 11 passage through the Jovian magnetosphere as viewed by particle detector systems is presented. Emphasis is placed on the region well within the Jovian magnetosphere using data from the LET-II telescope, which measured the proton flux from 0.2 to 21.2 MeV in seven energy intervals and electrons from 0.1 to 2 MeV in four energy intervals. The relative trajectories of Pioneer 10 and 11 are discussed and indicate that Pioneer 11 was exposed to a much lower total radiation dose than Pioneer 10, largely as a result of the retrograde trajectory which approached and exited the inner region of the magnetosphere at high latitudes. Angular distributions, calculations from Pioneer 11 magnetic field data, and the low-energy nucleon component are included in the discussion
Technology transfer potential of an automated water monitoring system
The nature and characteristics of the potential economic need (markets) for a highly integrated water quality monitoring system were investigated. The technological, institutional and marketing factors that would influence the transfer and adoption of an automated system were studied for application to public and private water supply, public and private wastewater treatment and environmental monitoring of rivers and lakes
Three experimental homes for the elderly mentally ill : final report
Against a background of increasing numbers of elderly mentally ill people, the Department of Health [Liverpool] established an initiative to develop and evaluate alternative ways of caring for this client group. Three experimental schemes were established, with the Department providing 50% funding for five years. All three units aim to provide a homely and domestic living environment and provide individualised care for clients.Chapter 1. INTRODUCTION; Chapter 2. METHODOLOGY; Chapter 3. OVERVIEW OF THE THREE EXPERIMENTAL HOMES; Chapter 4. THE NEED FOR SERVICES; Chapter 5. STAFF ACTIVITY STUDY; Chapter 6. THE CLIMATE OF CARE; Chapter 7. OUTCOMES OF CARE; Chapter 8. CONCLUSION
