Lepton flavor conserving Z -> l^+ l^-$ decays in the general two Higgs doublet model
We calculate the new physics effects to the branching ratios of the lepton
flavor conserving decays Z -> l^+ l^- in the framework of the general two Higgs
Doublet model. We predict the upper limits for the couplings
|\bar{\xi}^{D}_{N,\mu\tau}| and |\bar{\xi}^{D}_{N,\tau\tau}| as 3\times 10^2

Dental anatomy of the apex predator Sinraptor Dongi (Theropoda: Allosauroidea) from the late Jurassic of China
The dental morphology of the holotype of the theropod Sinraptor dongi from the Jurassic Shishugou Formation of China is comprehensively described. We highlight a combination of dental features that appear to be restricted to Sinraptor: (i) crowns with denticulated mesial and distal carinae extending from the root and an irregular surface texture on the enamel; (ii) a D- to salinon-shaped cross-sectional outline at the crown base in mesialmost teeth; (iii) mesial crowns with mesial carinae spiraling mesiolingually and lingually positioned longitudinal groove adjacent to the mesial carina; and (iv) particularly labiolingually compressed lateral teeth with weakly labially deflected distal carinae, flat to concave basocentral surfaces of the labial margins of the crowns, and horizontally elongated distal denticles showing short to well-developed interdenticular sulci. Using cladistic, multivariate, discriminant, and cluster analyses, we demonstrate that the dentition of Sinraptor is relatively similar to that of ceratosaurids, megalosauroids, and other allosauroids and is particularly close to that of Allosaurus. The dental anatomy of Sinraptor and Allosaurus, which differs mainly in the labiolingual compression of the lateral crowns and in the number of premaxillary teeth, shows adaptations towards a predatory lifestyle, including premaxillary teeth capable of enduring tooth-tobone contact and crowns with widely separated mesial and distal carinae capable of inflicting widely open wounds.Fil: Hendrickx, Christophe Marie Fabian. Architects of time: Labouring on digital futures
Drawing on critical analyses of the internet inspired by Gilles Deleuze and the Marxist autonomia movement, this paper suggests a way of understanding the impact of the internet and digital culture on identity and social forms through a consideration of the relationship between controls exercised through the internet, new subjectivities constituted through its use and new labour practices enabled by it. Following Castells, we can see that the distinction between user, consumer and producer is becoming blurred and free labour is being provided by users to corporations. The relationship between digital technologies and sense of community, through their relationship to the future, is considered for its dangers and potentials. It is proposed that the internet may be a useful tool for highlighting and enabling social connections if certain dangers can be traversed. Notably, current remedies for the lack of trust on the internet are questioned with an alternative, drawing on Zygmunt Bauman and Georg Simmel, proposed which is built on community through a vision of a ‘shared network’
A rebellious past : history, theatre and the England riots
Alain Badiou has argued that the England riots of 2011, in dialogue with societal upheavals around the world that same year, demonstrated fundamental crises in our governing social, economic and political discourses. Whilst institutional responses to the riots treated them as an aberration, Badiou believes them to be symptomatic of a broader rebirth of ‘history’ – the coalescing of past and present events into a congruent trajectory with powerful implications for the future. Using Badiou’s argument as a starting point, this article considers two theatrical responses to the riots – Nicholas Kent’s premiere of Gillian Slovo’s The Riots at the Tricycle, and Sean Holmes’ revival of Edward Bond’s Saved at the Lyric Hammersmith. By looking at the ways in which the productions sought to historicise the riots, I unpick both their interpretations of these events, and the contributions they were able to make to the urgent and ongoing discussions that the riots have generated.PostprintPeer reviewe
Deposizione di rivestimenti in Al2O3 mediante High Velocity Suspension Flame Spraying (HVSFS): caratteristiche dei riporti ed effetto dei parametri operativi
La tecnica denominata HVSFS (High Velocity Suspension Flame Spraying) è un processo di termospruzzaturainnovativo che, alimentando la torcia con una sospensione di particelle finissime (micro- o nano-metriche)disperse in una fase liquida, permette la deposizione di rivestimenti ceramici ad alta densità e basso spessore(<100 ?m). Per approfondire la relazione fra caratteristiche dei riporti e proprietà della sospensione, varirivestimenti a base di Al2O3 sono stati depositati utilizzando sospensioni di particelle sia micrometriche, siananometriche. Indipendentemente dai parametri di processo selezionati, una sospensione di particellemicrometriche sufficientemente disperse garantisce maggior efficienza di deposizione (>50%) e producerivestimenti costituiti da un’ottima sovrapposizione di lamelle fortemente coese, con maggior durezza(?1200 HV0.05) e minor rugosità (Ra ? 1.3 ?m) rispetto ai rivestimenti ottenibili con sospensioni dinanoparticelle. Sebbene i rivestimenti ottenuti da sospensioni di particelle micrometriche siano anche soggettia tensioni residue trattive più elevate (fra 50 MPa e 100 MPa), la loro eccellente densità e ottima coesione lirendono molto più resistenti all’usura per strisciamento (studiata con test “ball on disk”) rispetto a riporti diAl2O3 prodotti sia con sospensioni di nanoparticelle, sia con tecniche di termospruzzatura convenzionali
Lifeworld Inc. : and what to do about it
Can we detect changes in the way that the world turns up as they turn up? This paper makes such an attempt. The first part of the paper argues that a wide-ranging change is occurring in the ontological preconditions of Euro-American cultures, based in reworking what and how an event is produced. Driven by the security – entertainment complex, the aim is to mass produce phenomenological encounter: Lifeworld Inc as I call it. Swimming in a sea of data, such an aim requires the construction of just enough authenticity over and over again. In the second part of the paper, I go on to argue that this new world requires a different kind of social science, one that is experimental in its orientation—just as Lifeworld Inc is—but with a mission to provoke awareness in untoward ways in order to produce new means of association. Only thus, or so I argue, can social science add to the world we are now beginning to live in
Status of the LUX Dark Matter Search
The Large Underground Xenon (LUX) dark matter search experiment is currently
being deployed at the Homestake Laboratory in South Dakota. We will highlight
the main elements of design which make the experiment a very strong competitor
in the field of direct detection, as well as an easily scalable concept. We
will also present its potential reach for supersymmetric dark matter detection,

Evaluation of turbulent dissipation rate retrievals from Doppler Cloud Radar
Turbulent dissipation rate retrievals from cloud radar Doppler velocity measurements are evaluated using independent, in situ observations in Arctic stratocumulus clouds. In situ validation data sets of dissipation rate are derived using sonic anemometer measurements from a tethered balloon and high frequency pressure variation observations from a research aircraft, both flown in proximity to stationary, ground-based radars. Modest biases are found among the data sets in particularly low- or high-turbulence regimes, but in general the radar-retrieved values correspond well with the in situ measurements. Root mean square differences are typically a factor of 4-6 relative to any given magnitude of dissipation rate. These differences are no larger than those found when comparing dissipation rates computed from tetheredballoon and meteorological tower-mounted sonic anemometer measurements made at spatial distances of a few hundred meters. Temporal lag analyses suggest that approximately half of the observed differences are due to spatial sampling considerations, such that the anticipated radar-based retrieval uncertainty is on the order of a factor of 2-3. Moreover, radar retrievals are clearly able to capture the vertical dissipation rate structure observed by the in situ sensors, while offering substantially more information on the time variability of turbulence profiles. Together these evaluations indicate that radar-based retrievals can, at a minimum, be used to determine the vertical structure of turbulence in Arctic stratocumulus clouds
