FVS Fachtagung 2003: Regenerative Kraftstoffe Entwicklungstrends, Forschungs- und Entwicklungsansaetze, Perspektiven. Vortraege

Um die CO_2-Bilanz im Verkehrssektor signifikant zu entlasten, ist neben einer Verbrauchsminderung der Antriebsaggregate die Einfuehrung regenerativer Kraftstoffe ein weiterer wichtiger Baustein. Nach den Zielquoten der EU sollen bis zum Jahr 2010 5,75% des Kraftstoffverbrauchs regenerativ bereit gestellt werden, bis zum Jahr 2020 ist eine Steigerung auf 8% geplant. Einen ersten Schritt stellt die in Deutschland kuerzlich beschlossene Mineraloelsteuerbefreiung fuer regenerative Kraftstoffe dar. Neben Extraktions-und Fermentationsverfahren zur Herstellung von Biodiesel, Ethanol und Biogas kommen mittelfristig die synthesegasstaemmigen Kraftstoffe Methanol und Dimethylether, fluessige Kohlenwasserstoffe wie synthetische Benzin-/Diesel-Kraftstoffe sowie Erdgassubstitut in Betracht. Langfristig wird Wasserstoff-insbesondere auf regenerativer Basis-ein hohes Substitutionspotenzial zugeschrieben. Die Fachtagung informiert ueber den technisch-wissenschaftlichen Stand von Forschung und Entwicklung, ueber laufende Demonstrationsprojekte, politische Rahmenbedingungen, Potenziale und zukuenftige Perspektiven regenerativer Kraftstoffe.Apart from consumption reduction, the introduction of regenerative fuels will be an important contribution to CO2 reduction. The EU intends a 5.75 percent share of renewables by 2010 and an 8 percent share by 2020. The first step will be to make renewable fuels tax-exempt as recently decided in Germany. Apart from extraction and fermentation processes for producting biodiesel, ethanol and biogas, there are synthesis gas based methanol and dimethyl ether, liquid hydrocarbons like synthetic gasoline and diesel fuels, and substitute natural gas. While these will be a medium-term solution, the long-term solution will be a hydrogen economy.
