Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These states are the central region of the Indian subcontinent has some representatives of
the biological wealth of India. Its varied topography from the hilly ranges of the Eastern Ghats, the Nallamalais to the
shores of Bay of Bengal, support varied vegetation types enriched by a variety of flora and fauna. AP and Telangana is a
virtual bio reserve, which is unique both in terms of biodiversity and abundance. A constant refrain heard in Andhra
Pradesh is that the state is the Annapurna, the Rice Bowl of the South. What is never said is that apart from the crop
species called rice, Andhra Pradesh and Telanganaare home to at least eight species of millets, 12 species of pulses, six
species of oilseeds each one of them sporting dozens of varieties. Besides these, the states grows dozens of species of spices,
and hundreds of species of vegetables. In this study the Primary and secondary data collected from Farmers, Department
of Agriculture, AP, ANGRAU, NBPGR Reports, NBA Reports, ICAR Institute report, AICRP Reports and other published
data. It contains description and basic set of information related to agro biodiversity resources related information like
such as plant species, common name, scientific name, habitat, distributions, flowering time, seed traits, and economic
importance of crops in Andhra Pradeshand Telangana periodicals and governmental websites. The Portal was developed
using Drupal and MYSQL, which provides information resources on Agro biodiversity of AP and TS like Cereal crops,
fruits, vegetables, spices, medicinal plants etc. It is concluded that, the Portal is user friendly and browser compatible to
Mobiles, tablets, iPad ete. and also it provides all the information about Agro Biodiversity of the AP and TS states which
will be resource base for the end user viz. researcher, academician and policymakers. Not Availabl

Not AvailableSoil plays a very crucial role in supporting ecosystems and human civilization. Besides being a non-renewable
and valuable resource, it has high variability in its properties and behaviour all over the World.Soil survey helps to prepare
inventory of different kinds of soils and extent of distribution for the prediction of their characteristics and potentialities.
Such knowledge is required for making better utilization of soils in a sustainable way. Traditional soil survey techniques
are time consuming, labour intensive and costly. Recent advancements in computer and information technology have
brought new techniques of soil resource mapping. Remote sensing (RS), Geographical Information System (GIS)and
Global Positioning System (GPS) are such techniques for analysis the different features of soils over space and time.
Present paper describes the role of RS, GIS and GPS technologies for mapping and characterizing soils at various scales.
The spectral behaviour of soil and its components, which is fundamental to deriving information from RS data is also
discussed.Not Availabl

Not AvailableIndia is the world's fourth largest edible oil producer, it is the world's leading importer and consumer of edible
oils in the world. The annual per capita consumption of edible oil in the country shot up from around 3 kg in 1950 to 15.9 kg during 2015-16. The continued demand for edible oils by the ever increasing population makes edible oil deficit as a perennial national problem. Therefore, it is pertinent to explore new, unconventional edible oil sources to meet country's ever growing edible oil demands. Of several available options, rice bran oil has potential to jazz up the edible oil deficit, thus making India self-sufficient. Nutritional and toxicological evaluations of rice bran oil proved that this is a healthier option and an attempt has been made in this direction to assess the available untapped rice bran oil reserves at state and county level for rapidly filling up the edible oil supply-demand deficit. Not Availabl

Not Available© 2018, Saudi Society for Geosciences. The purpose of this study is to assess the groundwater quality and identify the processes that control the groundwater chemistry in a crystalline aquifer. A total of 72 groundwater samples were collected during pre- and post-monsoon seasons in the year 2014 in a semi-arid region of Gooty Mandal, Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The study utilized chemometric analysis like basic statistics, Pearson’s correlation coefficient (r), principal component analysis (PCA), Gibbs ratio, and index of base exchange to understand the mechanism of controlling the groundwater chemistry in the study area. The results reveal that groundwater in the study area is neutral to slightly alkaline in nature. The order of dominance of cations is Na + > Ca 2+ > Mg 2+ > K + while for anions, it is HCO3− > Cl− > NO3− > SO42− > CO32− > F− in both seasons. Based on the Piper classification, most of the groundwater samples are identified as of sodiu m bicarbonate (Na+−HCO3−) type. According to the results of the principal component analysis (PCA), three factors and two factors were identified pre and post monsoon, respectively. The present study indicates that the groundwater chemistry is mostly controlled by geogenic processes (weathering, dissolution, and ion exchange) and some extent of anthropogenic activities. Not Availabl

Not AvailableOilseeds play an important role next to food grains in the Indian agricultural economy both in terms of area
and production and India holds a significant share in world production too. The influence of climate change on
oilseed production was not understood properly to devise resilience strategies in order to uphold the production
and productivity. An attempt was made in this paper to understand the influence of climate change on oilseed
production at a regional level using Andhra Pradesh as a case study through regression analysis as well as
artificial neural networks (ANN). The results indicated that the predicted changes of climate on oilseed crops
varied greatly by crop and region. The implications of regression and ANN models in predicting the climate
change impact on different oilseed crops in Andhra Pradesh is discussed in detailNot Availabl

Temperature dependent phenological synchrony was observed between host fruit avaliablity and fruit fly trap catch in oriental fruit fly. Bactrocera dosalis. Using soft computing tool and traditional linear regression, the fruit fly prediction accuracy could be enhanced upto 92% using host-fruit avaliabllity and temprerature together. This study clearly showed that both host-fruit avaliablity and fruit fly occurence exhinited a synchronous response to temperature, on of the imporatnt indicators studied to assess the long term impacts of climate changeNot Availabl

Not AvailableResearch farm management in agricultural experimental stations requires
effective use of geographical information on farm layout, field
boundaries, location of buildings, roads, irrigation channels, wells and
electric lines, together with information facilities like farm
machinery, livestock, etc. and the planned crop field experiments. The
field experiment data will include details of crop and variety
information, field preparation and input applications. Record-keeping of
such information is laborious, time-consuming and cumbersome process. It
also becomes difficult to maintain these records over time, when
evaluating the effectiveness of changes in management plans. Advances in
information technology allow agricultural experimental farms to acquire
large amount of farm data more efficiently. Geospatial technologies can
enhance the efficacy incorporating traditional IT information management
tools for farm management. This study presents the design and
application of a web-based spatial decision support system (SDSS) for
experimental farm management using open-source GIS. This prototype SDSS
allows farm managers, researchers and students to explore and access
land-use options, fertilizer and pesticide applications, and track and
visualize historical data of weather, input use, pest infestation and
yield by field plots for better farm management. Not Availabl

Not AvailableIn this study, a geographic information system (GIS)-based decision support system (DSS) for assessing the
retail potential of chicken meat in Hyderabad, Telangana, India is developed through various analyses
namely, demographic analysis, competitor analysis and consumer preference analysis. This GIS-assisted
DSS interactively explores the use of GIS in addressing critical strategic decisions, like where to locate a
new retail outlet, or whether to close any existing retail outlets in overcrowded markets. The rapidly expanding
consumer base in the city, and its changing food dietary patterns with growing incomes, make GIS a potential
tool to analyse the markets and complex consumer behaviour, to facilitate the strategic decision-making by
the retailers. With integration of the poultry industry and presence of a good number of organised players,
chicken retail is seen as a major new business opportunity to drive revenues. Our study helps the retailers to
gain competitive advantage through GIS to formulate their business plans and to analyse marketing strategies
for chicken meat retailingNot Availabl
