Bounding the Optimal Length of Pliable Index Coding via a Hypergraph-based Approach

In pliable index coding (PICOD), a number of clients are connected via a noise-free broadcast channel to a server which has a list of messages. Each client has a unique subset of messages at the server as side-information and requests for any one message not in the side-information. A PICOD scheme of length ℓ\ell is a set of ℓ\ell encoded transmissions broadcast from the server such that all clients are satisfied. Finding the optimal (minimum) length of PICOD and designing PICOD schemes that have small length are the fundamental questions in PICOD. In this paper, we use a hypergraph-based approach to derive new achievability and converse results for PICOD. We present an algorithm which gives an achievable scheme for PICOD with length at most Δ(H)\Delta(\mathcal{H}), where Δ(H)\Delta(\mathcal{H}) is the maximum degree of any vertex in a hypergraph that represents the PICOD problem. We also give a lower bound for the optimal PICOD length using a new structural parameter associated with the PICOD hypergraph called the nesting number. We extend some of our results to the PICOD problem where each client demands tt messages, rather than just one. Finally, we identify a class of problems for which our converse is tight, and also characterize the optimal PICOD lengths of problems with Δ(H)∈{1,2,3}\Delta(\mathcal{H})\in\{1,2,3\}.Comment: Accepted at the IEEE Information Theory Workshop, 202

Accidents wreak havoc on victims, costing them valuable time and money. After thorough investigation, it has been shown that the majority of accidents result in fatalities as a result of poor communication with the relevant medical authorities and the ensuing dearth of prompt medical attention. Several sensor nodes are combined in a single system to forecast likely accident combinations. Lab view-based simulation was used to handlepossible conditions for an accident to happen. With the IoT Interface, theproposed design would enable a novel model in the vehicular communication system to recognize various accident situations and provide associated information to the needy. The proposed model would handle all potential combinations and comparative analyses from low to high end cars, as well as provide a strategy framework for future IoT enabled v2v communication networks

Uterine leiomyoma are benign monoclonal tumours arising from smooth muscle tissue. There are different types of fibroids depending on the location of fibroid. There are various operative challenges in long standing huge fibroids on abnormal location. Surgical difficulties associated with these cases are due to poor access to the operative field, distorted anatomy, difficulty in suturing the repairs, increased blood loss. It is an art and skill to surgically remove these difficult fibroids and do difficult hysterectomies. Here we present case series of 7 cases, we have described variety of fibroid at different ages, presentations, precautions and also surgical challenges and the steps to overcome them successfully. Case 1- cervical fibroid, case 2- submucosal fibroid polyp, case 3- Bulky uterus with fundal fibroid during vaginal hysterectomy, case 4- broad ligament fibroid, case 5- multiple fibroids, case 6- multiple subserosal fibroids during caesarean section, and case 7- giant fibroid. Different types of fibroids are tackled in different ways. So, fibroid mapping by imaging studies and also ureteric stenting preoperatively whenever needed, helps to prevent untoward injuries. Following principles of surgery in any difficult fibroids leads to successful management and also helps to prevent injuries to the urinary tract and avoiding intra operative blood loss

Incidental adnexal masses during caesarean section: a case series

    Get PDF
Adnexal masses originate in the ovaries, fallopian tubes or surrounding tissue. Adnexal masses can be found in women of any age and pregnancy is no exception. Reasons for adnexal masses going undiagnosed in antenatal period are asymptomatic and small (≤5 cm) mass size; the pregnant patients refused a pelvic examination and a transvaginal USG examination for the fear of abortion during early pregnancy. In 3rd trimester ultrasound, a gravid uterus may obscure the correct visualization and detection of an adnexal mass or it is often missed when we keep our focus on the baby and placenta. As there is also increase in caesarean section rate, the incidence has also increased. Here we presented a case series of 4 different cases, we had described variety of adnexal masses which were diagnosed accidentally during caesarean section and also about their management. Case 1-dermoid cyst, case 2-para ovarian cyst, case 3-complex cyst, case 4-includes 3 cases of simple cyst. Adnexal masses arising in pregnancy are functional, asymptomatic and resolve spontaneously. The risk of malignancy in persistent adnexal masses is low and ultrasonography is the preferred method to assess this risk. If the pathology is incidental finding in caesarean section, it is to be removed in the same setting to avoid surgery later

Within this work, we try the thing of a vastly active populace auditing plan obedient the DHT. The residence from the IHT is somewhat a sketchy display, containing pointer collection, square many, report collection and odd quality. Private auditing may be the original wear for remote checking of report soundness, spot the authentication surgery is conducted promptly during data proprietors and CSPs with somewhat popular. However, both exceeding schemes would provoke onerous computational costs from the TPA and prodigious contact upkeep in all respects the updating and information operations. Accordingly, the actions approximately the DHT are breach into two groups: file trips and halt surgery’s, and that both comprise investigate, interjection, expunction, and adjustment. We suggest the dough BLS stamp performance from bilinear maps to show the parcel documents, relevant fanny prospective to cumulative all the trademarks by original users on numerous data halts right into an unmarried abbreviated one and justify it for just once to abate the intelligence cost not outside the documents treat. However, their storehouse costs in reach the TPA will vary by reason their discrete data structures. Looking time on DHT decreases accepting the raise from the square size, and the inspect time about the DHT and the IHT has baby gaps, once the halt reach is bigger than 1000. We evaluate the dance of DHT-PA not over the quantity auditing synopsis and equal it with DAP. Therefore, it counts and serious to expand active auditing strategies to strengthen data owners' trust shower stockpile. To take a telling return counting mitigate you depress imaginably caused about the overrun facts, the TPA is participating to detect the purity from the user’s data restrain the distract

A factor in a wild-isolated Neurospora crassa strain enables a chromosome segment duplication to suppress repeat-induced point mutation (RIP)

    Get PDF
Repeat-induced point mutation (RIP) is a sexual stage-specific mutational process of Neurospora crassa and other fungi that alters duplicated DNA sequences. Previous studies from our laboratory showed that chromosome segment duplications (Dps) longer than ~300 kbp can dominantly suppress RIP, presumably by titration of the RIP machinery, and that although Dps <200 kbp did not individually suppress RIP, they could do so in homozygous and multiply heterozygous crosses, provided the sum of the duplicated DNA exceeds ~300 kbp. Here we demonstrate suppression of RIP in a subset of progeny carrying the normally sub-threshold 154 kbp Dp(R2394) from a cross of T(R2394) to the wild isolated Carrefour Mme. Gras strain (CMG). Thus, the CMG strain contains a factor that together with Dp(R2394) produces a synthetic RIP suppressor phenotype. It is possible that the factor is a cryptic Dp that together with Dp(R2394) can exceed the size threshold for titration of the RIP machinery and thereby causes RIP suppression

Background: Hypertensive disorders of human pregnancy, such as preeclampsia, complicates a sizeable percentage of all pregnancies, need its early indication and warning. The aim of present study was to determine the association between lipid peroxidation product, serum malondialdehyde (MDA) and serum uric acid levels in preeclampsia and find out any association between these two parameters in preeclampsia. Methods: Thirty preeclampsia and thirty gestational age matched normotensive pregnant women attending Narayana General Hospital, Nellore were included in the study. Serum MDA levels were measured by Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances(TBARS) method and serum uric acid levels were estimated by automated chemistry analyser using commercial kits. Results: Serum MDA (Mean±SEM 24.4±2.38 vs 7.9± 0.28 nmol/ml, p value < 0.000) and serum uric acid levels (7.2 ± 0.25 vs 3.9 ± 0.14 mg/dl, p value <0.000) were significantly elevated in preeclampsia cases when compared with that of normotensive pregnant women. A weak positive correlation between serum uric acid and serum MDA (r value 0.065, p value 0.734) was noticed in preeclampsia. Conclusion: Serum MDA and uric acid may be included as additional markers for screening and progression of preeclampsia, thereby helpful in effectively treating the condition at an early stage.
