Experimental Status of Leptonic Ds Decays

    Get PDF
The measurements of the leptonic branching ratios BR(Ds->tau nu) and BR(Ds->mu nu) are reviewed. The values of the Ds decay constant fDs derived from the measurements are updated and a world average is calculated taking into account the large correlations between the measurementsComment: 6 pages,1 figure, EPS 2001 Budapes

    Jet Production in Photon-Photon Interactions

    Get PDF
The inclusive one- and two-jet cross-sections are measured in collisions of quasi-real photons at e+e- centre-of-mass energies of 130 and 136 GeV using the OPAL detector at LEP. Jets are reconstructed with a cone jet finding algorithm. The jet cross-sections are compared to next-to-leading order (NLO) perturbative QCD calculations. Transverse energy flows in jets are studied separately for direct and resolved two-photon events.Comment: 4 pages, 6 Postscript figures, uses stwol.st

    Photon Structure at LEP

    Get PDF
The structure of the photon is studied in photon interactions at high energies using photons radiated by the electron and positron beams at LEP. The current status of these measurements is reviewed.Comment: 13 pages, 9 figures, Invited talk given at the Ringberg Workshop on New Trends in HERA Physics, Ringberg Castle, Germany, 25-30 May 199

QCD Studies and alpha_s Measurements at LEP

The LEP experiments have measured event shapes using data taken at e+e- center-of-mass energies ranging from 91 GeV to 209 GeV. Using the final LEP event shape measurements, a combined value of the strong coupling constant alpha_s(M_Z) has been extracted. Events with photon radiation have been used to extend the measurements to lower center-of-mass energies sqrt(s') to study the running of alpha_s. Alternative alpha_s measurements using four-jet rates have also been performed.Comment: 5 pages, submitted to the proceedings of ICHEP04, Beijing, Chin
