Construction operations are blamed as one of important causes of green gas effects. During the past few decades, there has been tremendous efforts to reduce the negative effects of construction operations on environment. This paper presents an application of data envelopment analysis to measure the relative efficiencies of the researches accomplished by various countries around the world on green construction or green management. The study expects countries that produce higher amount of CO2 accomplish more quality research articles. To do this, the study performs a survey using three keywords; namely “green construction”, “green building” and “sustainable building” on Scopus database and found 8692 articles over the period 1965-2019 where one of these keywords, at least, was used in their abstracts, keywords or titles. We also use three measures of h-index, I-10 and total publications repre-sentative of quality and quantity of the outputs produced by researchers. The study considers 28 countries responsible for at least 90% of CO2 emission for measuring the relative efficiency program using data envelopment analysis. The results indicate that Hong Kong was the only efficient country followed by Singapore with relative efficiency of 0.67

Green or sustainable chemistry, is an area of science focused primarily on development of products and processes to reduce the use and generation of hazardous materials. This paper presents a survey on 15643 articles published on Scopus database over the period 1990-2019. The study uses a multi criteria decision making (MCDM) technique named “The Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS)” to rank the 20 countries that are responsible for publication of 14870 articles. The study uses three criteria; namely h-index, I-100 and the highest cited article for ranking different countries. The results indicate that India with 2655 articles was considered the first country followed by the United States with 2367, Germany with 611 and United Kingdom with 693 articles

A scientometrics survey on project scheduling

In project management, a schedule is considered as a list a project's milestones, activities, and deliverables, normally with some start and finish time schedule, which are estimated by some information incorporated in the project schedule including resource allocation, budget, task duration, and linkages of dependencies and scheduled events. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the studies associated with project scheduling. The study uses Scopus database as a primary search engine and covers 3370 records over the period 1963-2019. The records are statistically analyzed and categorized in terms of different criteria. Based on the survey, "decision support systems" is the keyword which has carried the highest densities followed by heuristics methods. Among the most cited articles, papers published by researchers in Germany have received the highest citations (9084), followed by United States (7058) and Belgium with 4853 citations

Ranking fuzzy numbers using preference ratio: A utility function approach

    Get PDF
Ranking fuzzy numbers is one of the most important phases in any decision making process in fuzzy environments. In most cases, we deal with fuzzy numbers in the field of evaluating alternatives with fuzzy information or linguistic variables. This paper investigates ranking fuzzy numbers using the concept of preference ratio, introduces the weakness of this method, and proposes a new approach that overcomes the shortcoming of existing method. The proposed approach which is based on the concept of utility function takes the opinion of DM for ranking fuzzy numbers into account

An application of DEMATEL for transaction authentication in online banking

Business trades among individuals, companies, firms, enterprises, and governments are rapidly expelled from their traditional mode, which were mainly based on paper-based exchange, and are geared towards trading through information-based systems. E-commerce has opened up a new field in terms of speed, efficiency, cost savings, and the exploitation of fleeting opportunities. This paper evaluates different authentication methods for online banking in Parsian Bank, which is one of the biggest private banks in Iran. The study designs a questionnaire and distributes it among some experts to find cause and effect factors based on a multi-criteria decision making technique named Decision Making Trial And Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL). The study evaluates 12 criteria and divides them into two groups of cause and effect. “Use of mobile systems in authenti-cation methods”, “Authentication with fingerprint and smart card”, “Authentication with bank card and password”, and “Authentication with digital signatures and passwords” are considered as the causative group, while “Authentication with a bank card”, “Biometric authentication and disposable codes” and “Authentication with digital signature” are among the effective group

    Corporate Governance: A scientometric analysis

This research includes an extensive review of the studies associated with Corporate Governance. The study uses Scopus database as a primary search engine to collect the necessary data and collects 333 records over the period 2010-2018.The purpose of this research is to investigate the structured study of research activities carried out around the subject of corporate governance which have been published in international, well-known and credible magazines, books and sites. For this purpose, the study searches the phrase corporate governance on Scopus site and detects around 7200 documents and 2000 of highly cited documents are selected for the purpose of the investigation accomplished by a bibliometrics tool. The study limits the survey on published articles over the period 1993-2009 and detects 806 documents among 2000 documents from Scopus. The results indicate that papers published by researchers in United States have received the highest citations (8669), followed by United Kingdom (2094) and Australia with 1557 citations

Measuring the effect of e-business on organizational performance in project based organizations

Recently, there have been significant development on e-business and nearly all business partners try to offer their products and services via internet. One primary question for the implementation of e-business is to measure the effect of this new facility on supply chain in project based organizations. Although e-business may not directly influence on organizational performance, it definitely influences on unifying customers and suppliers, which yields to a better performance of organizations. This study performs a study to measure the indirect effect of e-business on project based organizational performance. The proposed study of this paper designs a questionnaire and distributes it among 140 professional experts in different industries in province of Ontario, Canada. The survey examines different hypotheses for a possible correlation between e-business and integrated suppliers, e-business and customers, integrated customers and suppliers with organizational performance. The results of this survey indicate a positive relationship between all these components either directly or indirectly

A state-of-art survey on project selection using MCDM techniques

Project selection is considered as the first essential part of project portfolio management. Project selection is also considered as a process to evaluate each project idea and chooses the one with the biggest priority. Project selection plays an essential role in the entire life cycle of different projects. This paper presents a survey for project selection using multiple criteria decision mak-ing techniques. The study considers 60 papers from over the period 1980-2017. The results of the survey have indicated that integration of Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and analytical hierarchy process/analytical network process was the most popular techniques for project selection followed by VIKOR method

Location-Allocation model for food industrial using fuzzy criteria: A case study of dairy industry

    No full text
A good facility layout plays an important role on increasing the profitability of a production unit. A good location needs to meet different criteria such as the distance between the plants and the places to reach raw materials, customers, etc. In this paper, we proposed a multi criteria decision making problem to locate a suitable dairy plant. We assume that all factors influencing the plant involves uncertainty and proposed fuzzy numbers to handle the uncertainty associated with all input parameters. We apply the method for a real-world case study of dairy production unit and analyze the results of our proposed model

Equilibrium solution of non-cooperative multiobjective bimatrix game of Z-numbers

    No full text
In this paper we introduce the concept of equilibrium for a non-cooperative multiobjective bimatrix game with payoff matrices and goals of Z-Numbers. In the recent studies of the authors, the problem of finding equilibrium for a non-cooperative bimatrix of Z-Numbers are investigated. Multiple payoffs are often dealt with in games because a decision making problem under conflict usually involves multiple objectives or attributes such as cost, time and productivity. We let each of the objectives of the problem correspond to each of the payoffs of the game. To aggregate multiple goals, we employ two basic methods, one by weighting coefficients and the other by a minimum component. In order to find the equilibrium solution in such circumstances, we developed a mathematical programming problem to maximize the aggregated goal subject to constraint of satisfying an aspiration level of confidence in the equilibrium solution. Finally a method is presented to determine the equilibrium solution with respect to the level of achievement to the aggregated goal
