Transforming the future: a review of artificial intelligence models
A comprehensive review of existing artificial intelligence models, focusing on fourteen prominent language and multimodal generative models from four rapidly evolving categories: Marketing, Copywriting, Image Improvement, and Social Media, is made. As of May 2023, 1,523 AI models are available to end users, with notable Russian services such as Balaboba, GigaChat, and Kandinskiy 2.0 emerging as counterparts to popular foreign neural networks. The potential applications of these tools in various media production domains, including journalism, marketing, and copywriting, are explored. It was necessary to talk about language models, since these are the ones, most connected not only to the media sphere, but to academic writing as well. Moreover, the authors delve into the ethical considerations associated with the use of AI models in professional settings, addressing potential challenges and concerns. The importance of responsible development, use, and regulation of AI technology, as well as the need for collaboration among researchers, governments, and private organizations to ensure ethical AI practices, is highlighted. The authors also outline the prospects for further development of AI models and related research, emphasizing the need to foster an environment of continuous learning for innovation that is inclusive and accessible. This approach will help maximize the benefits of AI while minimizing potential harm, paving the way for a more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future. The presented materials can serve as an introduction to the emerging branch of AI models development

The Internet has become omnipresent in Russia due to the mass accessibility of smartphones. Paired with the fact that the representatives of the digital generation are reaching adulthood, the significant changes in media consumption have occurred over the past five years. It can be stated that progressive quantitative transformations have turned into a qualitative digital shift. The use of digital media is growing: the use of messengers in almost all age groups, social networks, search engines, online video services surpasses traditional media. In 2021, digital platforms took the top eight places in the ranking of media platforms by audience in Russia. At the same time, there is a decrease in TV viewing, the fragmentation of the audience is growing, and the YouTube has become the most popular video service in the country. Interest in reading newspapers, magazines, listening to radio is falling. In terms of the importance of news sources and trust in them, the Internet surpasses TV in all audiences. The study provides statistics that have not been published before. A comprehensive analysis of the identified trends in the development of digital media allowed to draw a conceptual conclusion about the qualitative shift in media consumption in Russia between 2016 and 2021: this timeframe is marked for the first time.ΠΠ»ΡΠ±ΠΎΠΊΠΎΠ΅ ΠΏΡΠΎΠ½ΠΈΠΊΠ½ΠΎΠ²Π΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ ΠΈΠ½ΡΠ΅ΡΠ½Π΅ΡΠ° Π² Π ΠΎΡΡΠΈΡ, ΠΌΠ°ΡΡΠΎΠ²ΠΎΠ΅ ΡΠ°ΡΠΏΡΠΎΡΡΡΠ°Π½Π΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ ΡΠΌΠ°ΡΡΡΠΎΠ½ΠΎΠ² ΠΈ Π²ΡΡΡΠΏΠ»Π΅Π½ΠΈΠ΅ Π²ΠΎ Π²Π·ΡΠΎΡΠ»ΡΡ ΠΆΠΈΠ·Π½Ρ ΠΏΡΠ΅Π΄ΡΡΠ°Π²ΠΈΡΠ΅Π»Π΅ΠΉ ΡΠΈΡΡΠΎΠ²ΠΎΠ³ΠΎ ΠΏΠΎΠΊΠΎΠ»Π΅Π½ΠΈΡ ΠΏΡΠΈΠ²Π΅Π»ΠΈ ΠΊ ΡΡΡΠ΅ΡΡΠ²Π΅Π½Π½ΡΠΌ ΠΈΠ·ΠΌΠ΅Π½Π΅Π½ΠΈΡΠΌ Π² ΠΏΠΎΡΡΠ΅Π±Π»Π΅Π½ΠΈΠΈ ΠΌΠ΅Π΄ΠΈΠ° ΠΏΠΎΡΠ»Π΅Π΄Π½Π΅Π³ΠΎ ΠΏΡΡΠΈΠ»Π΅ΡΠΈΡ. The article examines the semiotic features of the virtual narrative in the projects of RIA.Lab platform of the leading Russian news agency βRussia Todayβ. The aim is to analyze the structural, linguistic and iconic elements of the virtual narrative in relation to the projects of immersive journalism, highlighting their features, taking into account the multimodal nature of virtual reality and the simulative aspect of the sign system of immersive works. Virtual space is not only a narrative environment with special topos, chronotope and other narrative elements, but is itself a semiotic element, participating in the process of semiosis, the space of virtual βlanguage gameβ. The thesis is put forward that VR, being an element of the multimodal information and communication universe, contains in its structure other modalities (TV, radio, cinema, print formats), and is multidimensional, a kind of βmodus in modusβ. The thesis on the priority of the modeling approach to the creation of immersive mass-media content over the simulative one and the necessity of observing the balance between modeling and simulation in immersive journalism are discussed. The specifics of conventional conditions of interpretation of simulacra signs in virtual space, which depend on the degree of their identity to the signs of real reality and the βrules of the virtual gameβ, set by the authors, are outlined. The directions of increasing the pragmatic efficiency of virtual narrative through the variability of its affords, the use of emphases, haptics (tactile experience) and other means of VR are outlined.Π Π°ΡΡΠΌΠ°ΡΡΠΈΠ²Π°ΡΡΡΡ ΡΠ΅ΠΌΠΈΠΎΡΠΈΡΠ΅ΡΠΊΠΈΠ΅ ΠΎΡΠΎΠ±Π΅Π½Π½ΠΎΡΡΠΈ Π²ΠΈΡΡΡΠ°Π»ΡΠ½ΠΎΠ³ΠΎ Π½Π°ΡΡΠ°ΡΠΈΠ²Π° Π² ΠΏΡΠΎΠ΅ΠΊΡΠ°Ρ
