    No full text
This project examines the problem of terrorism used against the United States by Osama bin Laden and the al-Qaida network. Extensive research was conducted on the main causal factors identified to develop a comprehensive background. Using the system dynamics methodology the information gathered was used to build an explanatory model that simulated the terrorist group and U.S. countermeasures to attacks. The model was then presented in several seminars and evaluated using surveys to discover its value as an education tool. In completion of the study a great deal of insight was revealed about the terrorist problem through the model. In addition, the seminars successfully demonstrated the potential of using a system dynamics for policy development and education implementation

The increasing importance of computer technology and the Internet in today's society has been accompanied by the formation of a "Digital Divide". The division exists between those capable of benefiting from the digital age and those who lack the skills and resources required to achieve these benefits. We worked in collaboration with our sponsors, the Worcester Information Technology Project and the Business Inclusion Council, in conducting research into Internet access obstacles encountered by Worcester communities. Using this research and the information gathered in our proposal we developed a plan for addressing the "Digital Divide" in the City of Worcester
