On a Double Series Representation of the Natural Logarithm, the Asymptotic Behavior of H\"older Means, and an Elementary Estimate for the Prime Counting Function

We present many novel results in number theory, including a double series formula for the natural logarithm and a proof concerning the H\"older mean based on the functional equation for the Riemann zeta function. We find a harmonic mean analogue of Chebyshev's inequality for the prime counting function involving the Euler-Mascheroni constant. Furthermore, we define a function taking the H\"older mean of all positive integers up to a given number and investigate its asymptotic behavior, finding two different patterns which are separated by the harmonic mean. Additionally, we discuss the behavior of said function at zero and discover a formula involving the Riemann zeta function, whose continuity we prove with Riemann's functional equation. Inspired by the alternating harmonic series, we find a double series formula for the natural logarithm, resulting in identities involving the Riemann zeta function, binomial coefficients, and logarithms.Comment: 34 page

The relationship between glycemic control and BNP levels in diabetic patients

Background: Glycemic control affects cardiovascular risk factors positively. The purpose of this study was to assess B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels in patients with poorly controlled diabetes before and after glycemic regulation was achieved. Methods: The study was performed in a prospective design. The study population consisted of 79 consecutive diabetic patients with poor glycemic control. All subjects underwent transthoracic echocardiography. Levels of fasting plasma glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), lipid parameters, and BNP were measured before the onset of the treatment and after glycemic regulation was achieved. Results: A significant decrease in BNP (95.0 [4.0–1807] ng/L vs. 52.0 [2.1–987.0] ng/L, p < 0.001) levels were observed, after improving glycemic control. The decrease in BNP levels was positively correlated with the decrease in HbA1c (r = 0.345, p = 0.003) and fasting plasma glucose (r = 0.366, p = 0.002). There was no correlation between the decrease in BNP levels and lipid parameters (p = NS).Conclusions: We conclude that poor glycemic control may cause high levels of BNP which maylead to overdiagnosis of congestive heart failure. We suggest that HbA1c and fasting plasma glucose should be checked in patients with high levels of BNP

Glofitamab in relapsed/refractory diffuse large B cell lymphoma: Real world data

Abstract INTRODUCT ̇ION Glofitamab is a T-cell-engaging bispecific antibody connecting CD20 on B cells and CD3 on T cells. Although, most of the patients with B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (BNHL) achieve complete response (CR) following firstline treatment with rituximab and chemotherapy, about 40% of patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is refractory or relapse (R/R). Autologous stem-cell transplantation (ASCT) can cure some of these patients but many patients cannot undergo this procedure. CAR-T therapies are a significant advance but not available in many countries like Turkey. In Phase II expansion study, the overall response rate (ORR) was 51.6% and complete remission (CR) rate was 39.4% in R/R DLBCL patients (Dickinson er al. JCO 2022). In this retrospective study, we aimed to report the outcomes of patients who used glofitamab via compessionate use in Turkey

Polatuzumab vedotin (Pola) with bendamustine and rituximab (BR) is a promising option for patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We analyzed the data of 71 R/R DLBCL patients who had been treated with Pola-BR in the named patient program from March 2018 to April 2021 from 32 centers in Turkey. All patients received up to six cycles of Pola 1.8 mg/kg, rituximab 375 mg/m2 on day 1, and bendamustine 90 mg/m2 on days 1–2 of each cycle. Median age at Pola-BR initiation was 55 (19–84). The overall response rate was 47.9%, including 32.4% CR rate when a median of 3 cycles was applied. With a median follow-up of 5 months, the median OS was 5 months. Grade 3–4 neutropenia and thrombocytopenia were the most common hematological toxicities. The real-world data from our cohort showed the Pola-BR is an effective option with a manageable toxicity profile

Decoupling Capacitor Selection in DCM Flyback PV Microinverters Considering Harmonic Distortion

WOS: 000314694700020Electrolytic capacitors as a decoupling reservoir restrict the lifetime of photovoltaic (PV) microinverters. This has led to the development of several improved decoupling circuits that can reduce the capacitor value to allow the use of nonelectrolytic types. In this paper, the minimum decoupling capacitor value for the proper operation of discontinuous conduction mode flyback PV microinverters is analyzed by taking into account the total harmonic distortion (THD) and PV power utilization ratio. The results presented show that the decoupling capacitor value influences the THD more than PV power utilization. A decoupling capacitor selection method for single-stage and two-stage flyback inverters is proposed. Experimental results obtained on an 80-W test bench are presented.Interaktif Enerji Ltd. The flyback micro-inverters operating at discontinuous conduction mode are very attractive due to the operation in open loop and working without current sensor. In this paper, the working characteristics of a grid-connected photovoltaic micro-inverter based on flyback converter are investigated and design details are presented. ;quot;Perturbation and observation;quot; method is used for maximum power point tracking. A micro-inverter prototype of 80 Wp is designed and produced. All the inverter functions, such as maximum power point tracking, islanding protection, serial communication, power control etc., are implemented by PIC24FJ64GA002 microcontroller. The measurements taken from protyped micro-inverter are compatible with design values. The highest efficiency of the converter was found as 80% and the loss mechanisms are discussed.
