Eating habits: knowledge of pregnant teenagersassistedin primary care
Objective: to understand he eating habits of pregnant teenagers assisted in primary care. Method: this is an exploratory studywithquantitative and qualitative approach, conducted in the Family Health Units, Cajazeiras-Paraiba, with 24 pregnant teens. In December 2010, through interviews with semi-structured script was conducted the data collection, which, for processing, was used thematic analysis (Bardin, 2009).Results: the study evidenced that pregnant teenagers showed some nutritional deficiency, given to the low level of education, the state of development and to financial unavailability. Conclusion: the study confirms the need for a differentiated prenatal care to pregnant teenagers, by crossing two phases of development, simultaneously, suggesting valid changes in their health, being necessary effective and efficient care provisions, in order to prevent health and life risks, promote and maintain health and well-being of both mother and child
Prevalence of smokers among students of an institution of higher education in the backlands of Paraiba
Objective: the objective was to characterize the prevalence of smoking among students of an IES. Method: this is
a quantitative study conducted in the city of Cajazeiras - Paraiba in an IES between February and December
2010. The sample consisted of 248 students of the courses offered by healthcare education institution studied.
Data were collected through questionnaire, after the signing of the agreement by the participants. Results: it
was observed the following percentage of smokers among the students researched courses: 5.6% nursing,
physiotherapy and pharmacy 4.5% 5.6%. The rate of ex-smokers identified among students was: 19% nursing,
physiotherapy and pharmacy 9.1% 17%. Conclusion: the rate of students of IES smokers demands the adoption of
pedagogical strategies that illustrate the harm from tobacco use

Objetivo: Compreender os hábitos alimentares de adolescentes grávidas atendidas na atenção básica. Métodos: Estudo exploratório com abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa, realizado nas Unidades Saúde da Família, Cajazeiras-PB, com 24 adolescentes grávidas. Em dezembro de 2010, por meio de entrevistas com roteiro semi-estruturado, foi realizada a coleta de dados, cuja análise foi subsidiada pela análise temática (Bardin, 2009). Resultados: Evidenciou que as gestantes adolescentes apresentaram certa deficiência nutricional, atribuída ao baixo nível educacional, ao estado de desenvolvimento e à indisponibilidade financeira. Conclusão: O estudo confirma a necessidade de uma assistência pré-natal diferenciada às adolescentes grávidas, por atravessarem duas fases de desenvolvimento, simultaneamente, sugerindo mudanças vigentes na sua saúde, sendo necessárias medidas de cuidado efetivas e eficazes, a fim de prevenir riscos à saúde e à vida, promover e manter a saúde e bem-estar do binômio mãe-filho
Automobile Accidents Attended by Mobile Emergency Care Service
Background: Automobile accidents are increasing every day and are becoming a serious public health problem due to the high morbidity and mortality rate. The goal of the current study was to characterise the traffic accidents attended by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (MECS) in Ibiara, PB.
Methods: This exploratory, descriptive, documentary study adopted a quantitative approach and analysis of data. The population consisted of all victims of traffic accidents attended by MECS in the city of Ibiara, PB, from June 2015 to June 2016. The following variables were studied: age, gender, time and day of the week the accident occurred, nature of the incident, substance ingested by the victim, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) or not, the anatomical lesions on the victim and the body regions hit during the accident.
Results: The sample consisted of 49 accident victims, and the majority (81.6%) were male, predominately 30 to 59 years. Events occurring at night (63.3%) and during the week (65.3%) predominated. The most frequent type of accident was motorcycle fall (71.4%), with almost half having consumed alcohol (46.9%) and most not wearing PPE (77.6%). The regions of the body most affected were the lower limbs (67.3%) and upper limbs (53.1%).
Conclusion: The main factor/cause of these accidents was due to imprudence and violation of traffic laws, highlighting the need to invest in traffic education policies, to direct campaigns for the prevention of traffic accidents, as well as expand the surveillance of traffic laws by authorities
A importância do uso da internet sob o viés da promoção interativa na educação em tempos de pandemia / The importante of internet use under the bias of interactive promotion in pandemic-time education
A pandemia causada pelo Corona vírus transformou o que antes era conveniência presencial em convívio online tornando-se uma necessidade diária. Desta forma, problemáticas antes minimizadas pelo ensino presencial vieram à tona com a necessidade de acesso à internet e a dispositivos que deem suporte a tal feito. Objetivou-se com esse estudo expor a importância do uso da internet na promoção da interação entre docentes e discentes durante os períodos de isolamento e distanciamento social em virtude dos contágios provocados por situações emergenciais como o caso da pandemia do novo corona vírus (COVID-19). O uso da internet como uma porta para renovação pedagógica estimula a reflexão sobre a relação docente e discente na atualidade, que leva as instituições de ensino a repensarem a sala de aula como espaço que não seja fechado e isolado do mundo. Para tanto, são abordados por meio da revisão da literatura informações sobre a importância da internet no processo interativo do conhecimento escolar. É inegável que a internet propõe à escola uma diversificação de suas práticas pedagógicas. O ato de ensinar está modificando-se. Na internet, no centro do novo dispositivo de formação colaborativa, a partir de novas tecnologias de interação, a escola reorganiza suas competências e habilidades
Nursing Care For Patients Experiencing Clinical Complications During Haemodialysis
Introduction: Patients with chronic renal disease treated by haemodialysis experience various changes in their daily lives, which they and their families need to adapt to and cope with.
Objective: To analyse the nursing care of patients with chronic renal failure on haemodialysis who experience clinical complications.
Method: A descriptive, exploratory study was conducted, using a quantitative approach. Data collection was performed using a sample of 73 patients at the Hemodialysis Center located at city of Patos-PB. The sample comprised 73 patients.
Results: 27 (37.0%) were female, aged between 20 and 88 years old. It was found that employees are 49.3% of respondents, in consonance to farmers with 31.5%. The most common complications were weakness (76.7%), headache (46.6%), cramp (43.8%) and pain (32.9%).
Conclusion: The trusting relationship between professionals and patients is paramount, because helps to improve adherence to treatment and, consequently, the reduction of complications; furthermore, educational and preventive actions are facilitated
