A consistent discrete version of a non-autonomous SIRVS model

A family of discrete non-autonomous SIRVS models with general incidence is obtained from a continuous family of models by applying Mickens non-standard discretization method. Conditions for the permanence and extinction of the disease and the stability of disease-free solutions are determined. The consistency of those discrete models with the corresponding continuous model is discussed: if the time step is sufficiently small, when we have extinction (respectively permanence) for the continuous model we also have extinction (respectively permanence) for the corresponding discrete model. Some numerical simulations are carried out to compare the different possible discretizations of our continuous model using real data.Comment: 20 figures, 29 page

El territorio virtual de la movilidad urbana: consideraciones para la implantación de un modelo de movilidad sustentable

El planteamiento busca definir los espacios intrínsecamente relacionados con el fenómeno de la movilidad: el espacio socioeconómico, el espacio cultural, el espacio ambiental y el espacio urbano. Esta fragmentación de espacios responde a que los límites de la movilidad y de las formas de transporte no están circunscritos a los límites de la ciudad, sino trascienden las conexiones urbanas y suburbanas del territorio, las regiones y las naciones. La ponencia tiene como objetivos definir el concepto de movilidad sustentable; intentar develar cuales son las dificultades y problemas a los que se enfrenta ante la movilidad sustentable en el contexto de las ciudades latinoamericanas; vislumbrar que cambios pueden darse en caso de implementar un nuevo modelo y de qué manera está en condiciones de modificar las formas de vida urbana preexistente; plantear la necesidad de reconocer los atributos de la conciencia moderna, y del mundo contemporáneo para exigir, planear, construir, responsabilizar y ser responsables, aportar y satisfacer un proyecto de ciudad que satisfaga las necesidades de la movilidad con sustentabilidad. El desarrollo de la ponencia está motivada por 3 preguntas: ¿Cómo nos movemos hoy?; ¿Cómo nos queremos mover? y ¿Hacia dónde nos debemos mover?This approach seeks to define the spaces intrinsically related to the phenomenon of mobility: the socio-economic space, cultural space, environmental space and urban space. This fragmentation responds to the limits of mobility and transport modes are not confined to the limits of the city, but the connections go beyond territories urban and suburban, regions and nations. The paper aims to define the concept of sustainable mobility; to try to uncover what are the difficulties and problems they are facing sustainable mobility in the context of Latin American cities; glimpse of what changes may occur in case of implementing a new model and how it is able to modify existing forms of urban life; raising the need to recognize the attributes of modern consciousness and the contemporary world to demand, plan, build, hold and be responsible, and to provide a city project that meets the mobility needs of sustainability.
