Maximum Entropy Inferences on the Axion Mass in Models with Axion-Neutrino Interaction
In this work we use the Maximum Entropy Principle (MEP) to infer the mass of
an axion which interacts to photons and neutrinos in an effective low energy
theory. The Shannon entropy function to be maximized is suitably defined in
terms of the axion branching ratios. We show that MEP strongly constrains the
axion mass taking into account the current experimental bounds on the neutrinos
masses. Assuming that the axion is massive enough to decay into all the three
neutrinos and that MEP fixes all the free parameters of the model, the inferred
axion mass is in the interval eV eV, which can be tested
by forthcoming experiments such as IAXO. However, even in the case where MEP
fixes just the axion mass and no other parameter, we found that eV eV in the DFSZ model with right-handed neutrinos. Moreover, a light
axion, allowed to decay to photons and the lightest neutrino only, is
determined by MEP as a viable dark matter candidate.Comment: 13 pages, 5 figures, typos corrected, figures update
The determinants of demand in football matches during the 2007 Brazilian Championship
In view of the structural changes experienced by Brazilian football as a whole, which is becoming better regulated and more transparently managed, it is necessary to examine the factors that now determine the attendance at football matches. This paper aims to examine the demand for tickets in the 2007 Brazilian Championship games, the main competition in that sport in the country, based on the methodology created by Souza and Angelo (2004), which conducted a study for the championship of 2002. The present study, using the Ordinary Least Squares method, showed that in 2007 the demand for football was price-inelastic, but no inference can be made with respect to income. Moreover, in general, the determinants were found to be steady.microeconomics, economics of sports, theory of demand, attendance
Inferences on the Higgs Boson and Axion Masses through a Maximum Entropy Principle
The Maximum Entropy Principle (MEP) is a method that can be used to infer the
value of an unknown quantity in a set of probability functions. In this work we
review two applications of MEP: one giving a precise inference of the Higgs
boson mass value; and the other one allowing to infer the mass of the axion. In
particular, for the axion we assume that it has a decay channel into pairs of
neutrinos, in addition to the decay into two photons. The Shannon entropy
associated to an initial ensemble of axions decaying into photons and neutrinos
is then built for maximization.Comment: Contributed to the 13th Patras Workshop on Axions, WIMPs and WISPs,

banho do recém-nascido.
toda a Europa.
The starting point of this work is the Misarela bridge legends: the midnight baptism
in the middle of the bridge, and the legend of the Devil´s Bridge.
Of these two legends we will give more importance to legend of the baptized in the
mother`s womb, that we only find in Trás-os-Montes, Minho and Galicia. So, starting on
this tradition in Misarela, we´re going to establish connections with other bridges where a
similar tradition exist or existed. At the same time we will try to understand what´s behind
this tradition, we´ll study the water mythology in the peninsular northwest, as well as the
traditions and superstitions connected with the baptism and the first bath of the newborn.
Regarding the legends of the Devil´s bridges, we´ll seek references of those
bridges, especially in Portugal. These Legends also appear frequently throughout Europe.
It´s a valuable intangible heritage common to many people.
We also seek to justify our approach to the lengends with the ecological landscape
where they are referenced. The landscape specificity was a key factor, either to the emerge
of the fantastic speech, brought in the legends, or for use of strategy and creativity
treatment of these spaces to create tourist content and practices.
Finally, we established a two daysdetailed tour itinerary, making a journey through
the bridges connected to the baptism in the womb in northern Portugal. In this itinerary we
also show other aspects of each of these bridges, which are relevant for those who visit
them. With this itinerary, the intangible heritage of these bridges falls again in the oral
tradition, by being told in their place of origin
Traceability in the food value chain is a topic of interest due to the advantages it brings to both the consumers, producers and regulatory authorities. This thesis describes my contributions during the design and implementation of a microservice based middleware for the Portuguese fish value chain considering current practices in the industry and the requirements of the stakeholders involved in the project, with the goal of integrating all the traceability information available from each operator to provide customers with the full story of the products they purchase. During this project I assumed many roles such as development, operations and even some security allowing me to improve my skills in all these fields and experimenting with the latest cloud native technologies such as containers and with DevOps practices.
