Діяльність Кабінету українського мистецтва Всеукраїнської академії наук
The article investigates development of the Cabinet of Ukrainian Art History in the All-Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (VUAN). The article highlights the contribution of O. P. Novytskyi and art-historians of Kyiv in the structural formation of VUAN’s units for art history study. This article particularly focuses on the consolidation of scientists around the Cabinet and the Chair of Ukrainian art in the early 1920s. Consequently, established place of the Cabinet of Ukrainian Art History in VUAN’s structure and its links with the arts section of Ukrainian Scientific Society in Kyiv (USS). Followed the stages of the Cabinet development and formation of its collection of scientific materials. As a result, studied that throughout its existence, the Cabinet had the following stages: 1) 1922-1924 – O. P. Novytskyi works in the Chair of the Ukrainian art in conjunction with Arts section former USS; 2) 1924-1929 – establishing of the Cabinet of Ukrainian Art History and formation of its subdivisions; 3) 1930-1933 – reorganization; 4) 1933-1934 – new wave of repression and suppression of the Cabinet after O. P. Novytskyi’s death. In article studied problem of dating of the beginning of the Cabinet and its liaison with the Chair of Ukrainian art of VUAN. Considered activity of structural subdivisions of the Cabinet: the Jewellery Commission, the group «Studio», the Museum of Ukrainian leaders and the Theatre Museum. The research highlights basic directions of studying art history in the Cabinet of Ukrainian Art History. Researched contribution of staff of the Cabinet to the development of scientific direction. The emphasis made on the contribution of the Cabinet in the training of young scientists in the field of Arts History in Kyiv. Moreover, considered influence of Soviet Government in to the work of the Cabinet. As a result of this research it was recognized that Cabinet besides collecting the materials was study and developed issues of the history of Ukrainian art «from ancient times to the present», including Shevchenko as an artist, history of architecture and music. Moreover, members of Cabinet prepared materials for encyclopedias, and dictionaries of Ukrainian art History, involved in the museum activity in Kyiv and Moscow, popularized Ukrainian art.Статья посвящена исследованию организации Кабинета украинского искусства Всеукраинской академии наук (ВУАН). В статье освещается вклад А. П. Новицкого и искусствоведов Киева в формирование структурных подразделений по изучению истории искусства в пределах ВУАН и консолидации ученых вокруг Кабинета и кафедры украинского искусства в начале 1920 гг. Установлено место Кабинета украинского искусства в структуре ВУАН и его связь с секцией искусств Украинского научного общества в Киеве (УНТ). Прослежены этапы деятельности Кабинета и формирования его собрания научных материалов. Рассмотрена проблема датировки начала работы Кабинета и его связи с кафедрой украинского искусства ВУАН. Охарактеризована деятельность структурных подразделений Кабинета: Золотарской комиссии, кружка «Studio», Музея украинских деятелей и Театрального музея. Исследованы основные направления работы искусствоведов Киева в Кабинете. Проанализирован вклад сотрудников Кабинета в развитие научного направления. Сосредоточено внимание на вкладе Кабинета в подготовку молодых ученых в области искусствоведения в Киеве. Выяснено влияние советской власти на работу Кабинета.Стаття присвячена дослідженню організації Кабінету українського мистецтва у Всеукраїнській академії наук (ВУАН). Висвітлюється внесок О. П. Новицького та мистецтвознавців Києва у формування структурних підрозділів з вивчення історії мистецтва в межах ВУАН і консолідації вчених навколо Кабінету та кафедри українського мистецтва на початку 1920 рр. Визначено місце Кабінету українського мистецтва у структурі ВУАН і його зв’язок з Секцією мистецтв Українського наукового товариства у Києві (УНТ). Простежено за етапами діяльності Кабінету та формування його збірки науково-дослідних матеріалів. Розглянуто проблему датування початку роботи Кабінету та його зв’язку з кафедрою українського мистецтва ВУАН. Охарактеризовано діяльність структурних підрозділів Кабінету: Золотарської комісії, гуртка «Studio», Музею українських діячів і Театрального музею. Досліджено основні напрями роботи мистецтвознавців Києва у Кабінеті. Проаналізовано внесок співробітників Кабінету у розвиток мистецтвознавчої науки. Зосереджено увагу на роботі Кабінету по підготовці молодих науковців з галузі мистецтвознавства в Києві. З’ясовано вплив радянської влади на роботу Кабінету
All-optical switching based on optical fibre long period gratings modified bacteriorhodopsin
All-optical switching using an optical fibre long-period gating (LPG) modified with bacteriorhodopsin (bR) is demonstrated. The switching process is based on the photo-induced RI change of bR, which in turn changes the phase matching conditions of the mode coupling by the LPG, leading to modulation of the propagating light. The effect was studied with an LPG immersed into a bR solution and with LPGs coated with the bR films, deposited onto the LPGs using the layer-by-layer electrostatic self-assembly (LbL) method. The dependence of the all-optical switching efficiency upon the concentration of the bR solution and on the grating period of the LPG was also studied. In addition, an in-fibre Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) composed of a cascaded LPG pair separated by 30 mm and modified with bR was used to enhance the wavelength range of all-optical switching. The switching wavelength is determined by the grating period of the LPG. Switching efficiencies of 16% and 35% were observed when an LPG and an MZI were immersed into bR solutions, respectively. The switching time for devices coated with bRfilms was within 1 s, 10 times faster than that observed for devices immersed into bR solution

Films based on bacteriorhodopsin in sol-gel matrices
The bacteriorhodopsin film in gelatin matrixes which are used as sensitive
elements of integrated optic and fibre-optic sensors of various vapor and gases
components will not be able to carry out the chemical control of aqueous
solutions. In the given paper the results of technological development of
obtaining the bacteriorhodopsin (bR) films in a sol-gel matrix are represented.
The films are obtained in a broad thickness range (from 0.5 to 20 microns) with
various bR concentrations and photosensitize additives. The optimal
technological conditions of obtaining of uniform films with given optical
parameters are defined. The surface morphology and cross section of the obtained
films was studied using an AFM and SEM. The films have a reasonable surface
roughness (~ 100 nm) and a uniform distribution of the purple membrane fragments
in the nanostructured sol-gel glass matrix along the films surface and
thickness. The transmission spectrums have the characteristic for bR the
absorption band, the value of which depends on bR concentration and
technological features of the films deposition. The investigated photosensitive
properties of the obtained films and influence on them of chemical components of
aqueous solutions, allow recommending the thin bR films in sol-gel matrixes for
creation of planar waveguides in the role of components of the chemical sensors
of liquid solutions
ELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF Mg-SUBSTITUTED LITHIUM IRON SPINEL
Complex impedances of sintered polycrystalline (х = 0.0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0) ferrite in the frequency range of 0.01 Hz to 100 kHz were measured at several temperatures in the range of 295-723 K. The complex-plane impedance spectra indicate that the material can be represented by a two-layer leaky capacitor which corresponds to the bulk and the grain boundary phenomena at high and low frequencies respectively. The dependence of impedance and conductivity and dielectric properties on temperature and frequency are discussed.</p
Electroinduced Diffusion of Lithium Ions into the Structure of Magnesium Fluoride
It has been established that in the process of intercalation/deintercalation of lithium ions into the MgF<sub>2</sub>-based cathode material, thediffusion coefficient is (1-3)·10<sup>-12</sup>сm<sup>2</sup> /s during intercalation and(0,6-3)·10<sup>-11</sup>сm<sup>2</sup> /s during the inverse process. It shows the possibility of using MgF<sub>2</sub> as a cathode material for a lithium element
ВОЛОКОННО-ОПТИЧНИЙ СЕНСОР ЕКСПРЕСНОГО КОНТРОЛЮ ХІМІЧНОГО СКЛАДУ ВОДНИХ РОЗЧИНІВ
On the example of the aqueous-ethanol solutions we proposed fiber-optic sensor system of the evaluation of the concentration of the liquid solutions with the known qualitative composition. The deposition of the thin film chalcogenide layer with the high refractive index permitted to improve in one order the precision of the refractive index measurements of the aqueous solutions for the quartz Y-shaped splitter. We proposed and tested the method of the definition of the aqueous solutions concentration thanks to the measurement of the time of the total drying of the film of the solution on the fiber end, and thanks to the measurements of the changes of the interference signal which appears on the film in course of the drying process. На примере водно-спиртовых растворов предложена волоконно-оптическая сенсорная система оценки концентрации жидких растворов с известным качественным составом. Нанесение тонкопленочного халькогенидного слоя с высоким показателем преломления позволило на порядок повысить точность измерения показателя преломления водных растворов для Y-образного кварцевого разветвлителя. Предложено и испытано метод определения концентрации водных растворов путем определения полного времени высыхания пленки раствора на торце волокна, а также измерением изменений интерференционного сигнала, который возникает на пленке в процессе высыхания.На прикладі водно-спиртових розчинів запропонована волоконно-оптична сенсорна система оцінки концентрації рідких розчинів з відомим якісним складом. Нанесення тонкоплівкового халькогенідного шару з високим показником заломлення дозволило на порядок підвищити точність вимірювання показника заломлення водних розчинів для Y-подібного кварцового розгалуджувача. Запропоновано та випробувано метод визначення концентрації водних розчинів шляхом визначення повного часу висихання плівки розчину на торці волокна, а також вимірюванням змін інтерференційного сигналу, що виникає на плівці в процесі висихання
