    Observed parity-odd CMB temperature bispectrum

Parity-odd non-Gaussianities create a variety of temperature bispectra in the cosmic microwave background (CMB), defined in the domain: 1+2+3=odd\ell_1 + \ell_2 + \ell_3 = {\rm odd}. These models are yet unconstrained in the literature, that so far focused exclusively on the more common parity-even scenarios. In this work, we provide the first experimental constraints on parity-odd bispectrum signals in WMAP 9-year temperature data, using a separable modal parity-odd estimator. Comparing theoretical bispectrum templates to the observed bispectrum, we place constraints on the so-called nonlineality parameters of parity-odd tensor non-Gaussianities predicted by several Early Universe models. Our technique also generates a model-independent, smoothed reconstruction of the bispectrum of the data for parity-odd configurations.Comment: 17 pages, 4 figures, 1 table. Interparticle Potential up to Next-to-leading Order for Gravitational, Electrical, and Dilatonic Forces

Long-range forces up to next-to-leading order are computed in the framework of the Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton system by means of a semiclassical approach to gravity. As has been recently shown, this approach is effective if one of the masses under consideration is significantly greater than all the energies involved in the system. Further, we obtain the condition for the equilibrium of charged masses in the system.Comment: 19 pages, 19 figures, RevTeX4.1. Revised version, Title change

Fermion spectrum and localization on kinks in a deconstructed dimension

We study the deconstructed scalar theory having nonlinear interactions and being renormalizable. It is shown that the kink-like configurations exist in such models. The possible forms of Yukawa coupling are considered. We find the degeneracy in mass spectrum of fermions coupled to the nontrivial scalar configuration.Comment: 19pages, 39figures, revised versio

Statistical Mechanics of Charged Particles in Einstein-Maxwell-Scalar Theory

    Get PDF
We consider an NN-body system of charged particle coupled to gravitational, electromagnetic, and scalar fields. The metric on moduli space for the system can be considered if a relation among the charges and mass is satisfied, which includes the BPS relation for monopoles and the extreme condition for charged black holes. Using the metric on moduli space in the long distance approximation, we study the statistical mechanics of the charged particles at low velocities. The partition function is evaluated as the leading order of the large dd expansion, where dd is the spatial dimension of the system and will be substituted finally as d=3d=3.Comment: 11 pages, RevTeX3.

Conformal Quantum Mechanics in Two Black Hole Moduli Space

    Get PDF
We discuss quantum mechanics in the moduli space consisting of two maximally charged dilaton black holes. The quantum mechanics of the two black hole system is similar to the one of DFF model, and this system has the SL(2,R)SL(2,R) conformal symmetry. Also, we discuss the bound states in this system.Comment: 15 pages, RevTeX3.0. References added, Minor correction

Gravitational Effects of Quantum Fields in the Interior of a Cylindrical Black Hole

The gravitational back-reaction is calculated for the conformally invariant scalar field within a black cosmic string interior with cosmological constant. Using the perturbed metric, the gravitational effects of the quantum field are calculated. It is found that the perturbations initially strengthen the singularity. This effect is similar to the case of spherical symmetry (without cosmological constant). This indicates that the behaviour of quantum effects may be universal and not dependent on the geometry of the spacetime nor the presence of a non-zero cosmological constant.Comment: 13 pages, 1 figure, uses AMS package. Free field constructions for the elliptic algebra Aq,p(sl^2){\cal A}_{q,p}(\hat{sl}_2) and Baxter's eight-vertex model

Three examples of free field constructions for the vertex operators of the elliptic quantum group Aq,p(sl^2){\cal A}_{q,p}(\hat{sl}_2) are obtained. Two of these (for p1/2=±q3/2,p1/2=q2p^{1/2}=\pm q^{3/2},p^{1/2}=-q^2) are based on representation theories of the deformed Virasoro algebra, which correspond to the level 4 and level 2 ZZ-algebra of Lepowsky and Wilson. The third one (p1/2=q3p^{1/2}=q^{3}) is constructed over a tensor product of a bosonic and a fermionic Fock spaces. The algebraic structure at p1/2=q3p^{1/2}=q^{3}, however, is not related to the deformed Virasoro algebra. Using these free field constructions, an integral formula for the correlation functions of Baxter's eight-vertex model is obtained. This formula shows different structure compared with the one obtained by Lashkevich and Pugai.Comment: 23 pages.
