Diagnostics of steel structures with the dynamic non-destructive method

    Get PDF
The method of the assessment of steel structures mechanical properties is considered with the nondestructive test by conical indentation. The nondestructive evaluating of the steel mechanical properties in real structures is widely spread in many applied problems. Dynamic indentation method is one of the most effective because of compatibility and accuracy. For this purpose, the static and dynamic problem of axisymmetric elastic-plastic truncated cone indentation is solved, and the results are compared with finite element analysis and experimental data. The method of nondestructive evaluating of mechanical characteristics is suggested and devise of the realization of the method is tested at real structures. The method is tested on steel railway bridges that are being operated for more than 60 years. As a result, zones with lower strength values were identified, and recommendations for strengthening the design were given

Таргетированное предоставление информации на цифровых вывесках: возможные решения

    Get PDF

    Ontology for cyber-physical-social systems self-organisation

    Get PDF
Cyber-Physical-Social Systems (CPSSs) integrate various resources from physical, cyber, and social worlds. Efficient interaction of these resources is essential for CPSSs operation. Ontologies do not only provide for semantic operability between different resources but also provide means to create sharable ontology-based context models specified for actual settings. Usage of the context supports situation-driven behavior of CPSSs resources and thus is an enabler for their self-organisation. The present research inherits the idea of context ontologies usage for modelling context in CPSSs. In this work, an upper level context ontology for CPSSs is proposed. This ontology is applied in the domain of self-organising resource network

Intelligent tourist guiding service based on Smart-M3 platform

    Get PDF
The paper proposes an intelligent tourist guiding service based on the Smart-M3 information platform and context management technology. It suggests attractions that are better to attend based on the tourist preferences and current situation in the region. The Smart-M3 platform implements a concept of the smart space providing the information sharing infrastructure in the intelligent tourist guiding service. The smart space is a decentralized infrastructure that allows different devices to share required information between them. The main benefit of the presented approach is to assist tourists in the region using their personal mobile devices. Such mobile devices need only Internet connection and capability to show appropriate information to tourists

The paper proposes a description of information decision support system in the tourism domain and a set of methods and algorithms for generating recommendations for a user that allow significant increase of the system usability. The system generates for the user recommendations which attractions at the moment are better to attend based on the user preferences and the current situation in the location area. The system also allows showing the user information about interesting attraction in more detail, which is based on analyzing information evaluations made by other users

Nitric Oxide Has a Concentration-Dependent Effect on the Cell Cycle Acting via EIN2 in Arabidopsis thaliana Cultured Cells

    Get PDF
Ethylene is known to influence the cell cycle (CC) via poorly characterized roles whilst nitric oxide (NO) has well-established roles in the animal CC but analogous role(s) have not been reported for plants. As NO and ethylene signaling events often interact we examined their role in CC in cultured cells derived from Arabidopsis thaliana wild-type (Col-0) plants and from ethylene-insensitive mutant ein2-1 plants. Both NO and ethylene were produced mainly during the first 5 days of the sub-cultivation period corresponding to the period of active cell division. However, in ein2-1 cells, ethylene generation was significantly reduced while NO levels were increased. With application of a range of concentrations of the NO donor, sodium nitroprusside (SNP) (between 20 and 500 μM) ethylene production was significantly diminished in Col-0 but unchanged in ein2-1 cells. Flow cytometry assays showed that in Col-0 cells treatments with 5 and 10 μM SNP concentrations led to an increase in S-phase cell number indicating the stimulation of G1/S transition. However, at ≥20 μM SNP CC progression was restrained at G1/S transition. In the mutant ein2-1 strain, the index of S-phase cells was not altered at 5–10 μM SNP but decreased dramatically at higher SNP concentrations. Concomitantly, 5 μM SNP induced transcription of genes encoding CDKA;1 and CYCD3;1 in Col-0 cells whereas transcription of CDKs and CYCs were not significantly altered in ein2-1 cells at any SNP concentrations examined. Hence, it is appears that EIN2 is required for full responses at each SNP concentration. In ein2-1 cells, greater amounts of NO, reactive oxygen species, and the tyrosine-nitrating peroxynitrite radical were detected, possibly indicating NO-dependent post-translational protein modifications which could stop CC. Thus, we suggest that in Arabidopsis cultured cells NO affects CC progression as a concentration-dependent modulator with a dependency on EIN2 for both ethylene production and a NO/ethylene regulatory function

Smart space-based intelligent mobile tourist guide: Service-based implementation

    Get PDF
The paper presents an intelligent mobile tourist guide architecture that allows tourists to get information about attractions around the current geographic location based on tourist context and estimations of other tourists. Information about attractions (images and description blocks) is extracted from different internet services (like Wikipedia, Wikivoyage, Wikitravel, Panoramio, Flickr) “on the fly” that allows to use mobile tourist guide in any region of the world and get actual at the moment information. The mobile tourist guide provides information about public transport and car sharing possibilities for the tourist with drivers nearby for comfortable reaching preferred attractions. It is based on the smart space technology that provides possibilities of personal devices and different services seamless integration. The paper also discusses services interaction in smart space that allows to implement majority of mobile tourist guide tasks in computational power devices and use personal mobile devices only for results visualization

FGF4 Independent Derivation of Trophoblast Stem Cells from the Common Vole

The derivation of stable multipotent trophoblast stem (TS) cell lines from preimplantation, and early postimplantation mouse embryos has been reported previously. FGF4, and its receptor FGFR2, have been identified as embryonic signaling factors responsible for the maintenance of the undifferentiated state of multipotent TS cells. Here we report the derivation of stable TS-like cell lines from the vole M. rossiaemeridionalis, in the absence of FGF4 and heparin. Vole TS-like cells are similar to murine TS cells with respect to their morphology, transcription factor gene expression and differentiation in vitro into derivatives of the trophectoderm lineage, and with respect to their ability to invade and erode host tissues, forming haemorrhagic tumours after subcutaneous injection into nude mice. Moreover, vole TS-like cells carry an inactive paternal X chromosome, indicating that they have undergone imprinted X inactivation, which is characteristic of the trophoblast lineage. Our results indicate that an alternative signaling pathway may be responsible for the establishment and stable proliferation of vole TS-like cells
