Bradykinin degradation pathways in human blood plasma

    Get PDF
AbstractThe kinetics of proteolysis of bradykinin and its metabolites in human blood plasma was studied, the limiting stages were determined and each stage of the degradation was correlated with the appropriate plasma enzyme. A scheme of the pathways of major and minor degradation processes has been proposed

NbTi foil thermally controlled switches for superconducting converters with operation frequency up to 50 Hz. Part 1: Experiment

    Get PDF
The increase of the operation frequency of superconducting converters up to 50 Hz opens new ways to improve their parameters. Thermally controlled switches using NbTi foil are able to operate at industrial frequency with reasonable efficiency and dynamic parameters. Such switches have been developed and tested. The paper presents experimental results of static and dynamic behavior of the switches. The rectification mode was tested with different shapes of the applied voltage, with currents from 150 to 450 A, voltages from 10 mV to 2.5 V and recovery times between 1 and 10 ms. The switches presented here have experimentally demonstrated superior dynamic parameters at higher efficiency than the ones reported in literature up to now

An engineering formula to describe the AC loss of BSCCO/Ag tape

An engineering function to describe the AC loss of BSCCO/Ag tape conductors is developed. For a wide range of transport currents and magnetic fields (with different orientation) the loss is described with an uncertainty of 10%. The equation is based on the analytical expressions available, BSCCO/Ag tapes used in power applications at liquid nitrogen temperature are fed with an AC transport current and exposed to an AC magnetic field. The magnetic field in a device has different orientations with respect to the position of the conductor in the device. In this contribution, AC loss measurements for simultaneously applied magnetic field (with different orientation) and transport current are presented for a high quality tape conductor that is used in a transformer coil. The results are separated into a magnetic and a transport current loss componen

Development of a 50-60 Hz thermally switched superconducting rectifier

    Get PDF
A full-wave thermally switched superconducting rectifier, able to operate directly from the mains at the 50-60-Hz frequency, has been developed. Typical design output values of this device are a current of 300 A, a voltage of up to 1 V, an average power of up to 100 VA, and an efficiency better than 95%. The rectification is achieved by means of fast-response switches and an iron core transformer. A simple and reliable algorithm for the rectifier operation, based on the measured current change across the switches, was developed and tested while powering a small magnet. The new features of the rectifier allow for a simplification of the construction and a significant reduction of cost, mass, and volum

The effect of dynamic breathing exercises on physical training of students with hearing impairments.

    Get PDF
The program of dynamic breathing exercises that affect the development of physical qualities was developed for the hearing-impaired students. The study involved a group of students with hearing impairments that included 12 people, aged from18 to 19 years with the same diagnosis and level of physical training. The program of dynamic breathing exercises and test data results of students' physical training before and after the teaching experiment were presented. A positive increase in test results after the application of complex dynamic breathing exercises was identified

Characterisation of a high-Tc coil using short sample data

Characteristics of a circular superconducting coil made with BSCCO-2223/Ag tape depend on the amplitude and direction of the magnetic field in the windings. The effect can be estimated by studying a short sample of the same tape. However, the loss voltage-current and the frequency characteristics of a coil deviate considerably from those that are measured on a short sample. In order to estimate the deviation, the authors compared measured characteristics of a few small coils employing up to ~10 m of tape with those calculated from the short samples data. The comparison includes several arrangements of coils and field shaping elements around the coil edges and is performed in the frequency and temperature range typical for power applications (1-100 Hz and 64-78 K respectively). The results are applied to the design of a 100 kVA-50 Hz resonator coil with a high quality facto

The article treats such a convergence of expressive means in modern mass media of Russia and Spain as hyperexpression, which is understood as the combinatorics of expressive means in a mini-text. The hyperexpression is based on receiving an updating semantic ambiguity of expression.

NbTi thermally controlled switches for superconducting converters with operation frequency up to 50 Hz.:Part 2: Theory and analysis

    Get PDF
A review is given of several known thermally controlled switches developed for superconducting converters. It shows their rather low frequency of operation (up to a few Hz) which strongly differs from the industrial frequency. This is not only due to the long recovery times of the switches, but also to the fact that the efficiency drops as the frequency increases. To develop switches suitable for 50 Hz, having reasonable efficiency, a theoretical model of the switch is necessary. Such a model is presented here, and illustrated for 50 Hz switches made from NbTi foil
