Pediatric imaging: Current and emerging techniques
Imaging has always been an important component of the clinical evaluation of pediatric patients. Rapid technological advances in imaging are making noninvasive evaluation of a wide range of pediatric diseases possible. Ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are two imaging modalities that do not involve ionizing radiation and are preferred imaging modalities in the pediatric population. Computed tomography (CT) remains the imaging modality with the highest increase in utilization in children due to its widespread availability and rapid image acquisition. Emerging imaging applications to be discussed include MR urography, voiding urosonography with use of ultrasound contrast agents, CT dose reduction techniques, MR enterography for inflammatory bowel disease, and MR cine airway imaging

The role of imaging in gastrointestinal bleed.
Gastrointestinal (GI) bleed accounts for approximately 20% of emergency visits; 2% of hospital admissions and its incidence has been increasing. In patients where the GI bleed does not stop spontaneously, intervention is required to identify the source of bleeding and stop the hemorrhage. Although identifying the source of bleeding can be challenging due to the vast number of underlying etiologies, radiology plays a vital role in patients where endoscopy and/or medical management fail. Radiology offers both non-invasive and invasive options for the diagnosis as well as management of GI bleeds. Scintigraphy and computed tomography angiography (CTA) are the most important non-invasive imaging tests that can identify presence of and help locate the site of bleeding and are used when the patient is hemodynamically stable. If the patient is hemodynamically unstable, conventional angiography (CA) allows diagnosis of the presence, site of bleeding as well as the means of treating the bleed by embolization. Our review article focuses on the various etiologies of GI bleed, the role of imaging in diagnosis as well as treatment of these patients based on the underlying etiologies, the merits and disadvantages of each of these modalities with emphasis on triaging patients for the most appropriate imaging test to guide the most suitable management

Role of the radiologist at HCC multidisciplinary conference and use of the LR-TR algorithm for improving workflow
Multidisciplinary conferences (MDCs) play a major role in management and care of oncology patients. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a complex disease benefiting from multidisciplinary discussions to determine optimal patient management. A multitude of liver-directed locoregional therapies have emerged allowing for more options for treatment of HCC. A radiologist dedicated to HCC-MDC is an important member of the team contributing to patient care in multiple ways. The radiologist plays a key role in image interpretation guiding initial therapy discussions as well as interpreting post-treatment imaging following liver-directed therapy. Standardization of image interpretation can lead to more consistent treatment received by the patient as well as accurate assessment of transplant eligibility. The radiologist can facilitate this process using structured reporting that is also supported by stakeholders involved in interdisciplinary management of liver diseases. The Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS), is a living document which offers a standardized reporting algorithm for consistent communication of radiologic findings for HCC screening and characterization of liver observations in patients at risk for HCC. The LI-RADS post-treatment algorithm (LR-TR algorithm) has been developed to standardize liver observations following liver-directed locoregional therapy. Running a Radiology Residency Program: Strategies for Success
Running a successful radiology residency program requires departments to navigate the evolving educational landscape at the departmental, institutional, and national levels. To attract the best applicants, departments must invest time and money to support the leadership of the program and its faculty to provide innovative educational opportunities in a positive learning environment while simultaneously complying with all of the requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The key administrative requirements of a successful radiology residency program are described and can be grouped into (a) essential administrative components, (b) the clinical learning environment review and self-study process, and (c) resident recruitment. Ten specific strategies for running a successful residency program are also presented. The goal is for this article to serve as a guide for not only existing diagnostic and interventional radiology residency programs but also newly formed programs that are in the process of seeking accreditation. ©RSNA, 2018
Additive value of non-contrast MRA in the preoperative evaluation of potential liver donors.
The purpose of this study is to compare diagnostic quality, inter-observer variability and agreement of non-contrast enhanced MRA (NC-MRA) with contrast-enhanced MRA (CE-MRA) in the evaluation of hepatic arterial anatomy. 20 potential liver donors were included in this retrospective study. NC-MRA, CE-MRA and combined data sets were randomized and reviewed by two readers. Reference standard was consensus by two senior radiologists using all data including CTA. There was no difference in IQ or diagnostic confidence between NC-MRA, CE-MRA or combined data for either reader but the arterial origin of segment IV was successfully identified on NC-MRA when CE-MRA was suboptimal
