Quantum state transfer from light to molecules via coherent two-color photo-association in an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate
By using a quantized input light, we theoretically revisit the coherent
two-color photo-association process in an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate.
Under the single-mode approximations, we show two interesting regimes of the
light transmission and the molecular generation. The quantum state transfer
from light to molecules is exhibited, without or with the depletion of trapped
atoms.Comment: 1 figure, accepted by Eur.Phys.J.D on Dec.15,200
Complementarity + Back-reaction is enough
We investigate a recent development of the black hole information problem, in
which a practical paradox has been formulated to show that complementarity is
insufficient. A crucial ingredient in this practical paradox is to distill
information from the early Hawking radiation within the past lightcone of the
black hole. By causality this action can back-react on the black hole. Taking
this back-reaction into account, the paradox could be resolved without invoking
any new physics beyond complementarity. This resolution requires a certain
constraint on the S-matrix to be satisfied. Further insights into the S-matrix
could potentially be obtained by effective-field-theory computations of the
back-reaction on the nice slice.Comment: v2, 21 pages, 4 figure
A conceptual framework for interactive virtual storytelling
This paper presents a framework of an interactive storytelling system. It can integrate five components: management centre, evaluation centre, intelligent virtual agent, intelligent virtual environment, and users, making possible interactive solutions where the communication among these components is conducted in a rational and intelligent way. Environment plays an important role in providing heuristic information for agents through communicating with the management centre. The main idea is based on the principle of heuristic guiding of the behaviour of intelligent agents for guaranteeing the unexpectedness and consistent themes
