Learning to Teach: Narratives and Counter-narratives about Preservice Teachers
The present article analyzes two critical frameworks within teacher education and how they construct preservice teachers and their learning within teacher education. These frameworks of \u27Apprenticeship of Observation\u27 (AoO) and \u27Ambitious Practice\u27 (AP) present opposing narratives about preservice teachers. While AoO directs our attention to preservice teachers\u27 belief, AP emphasizes on developing professional practices that are core to the work of teaching. Teacher educators draw on these frameworks and narratives to inform their work with preservice teachers . Each framework has its unique stance on preservice teachers and makes noteworthy contributions that expand the field teacher education and evolve our thinking as teacher educator
Expanding the Synthesis and Applications of Morpholine-based Pyrrole Modified Porphyrins
The thesis proposes to refine and extend the ‘porphyrin breaking and mending’ methodology, to modify known and novel pyrrole-modified porphyrins (PMPs), to evaluate their (photo)physical properties in theory and experiment, and to explore – alone and in collaboration with specialty groups – their applications. The investigations were carried out such that the steric (e.g., ring-size of the non-pyrrolic heterocycle; beta-to-ortho–phenyl linkages) and electronic influences (e.g., degree of saturation of the macrocycle, nature of functional groups) of the modifications on the physical properties of the PMPs could be delineated.
The reaction of beta-octaalkylporphyrins (octaethylporphyrin and etioporphyrin I) with ozone to generate chlorin-like chromophores was studied. Such a reaction was described firstly over 80 years ago but was not understood at the time. The work expands on the knowledge of converting porphyrins to porphyrinoids containing non-pyrrolic heterocycles of potential utility. We introduce novel methodologies toward the synthesis of porphyrinoids carrying beta-to-ortho-phenyl fusions and expand on the scope and limits of the chemistry and interconversion of pyrrole-modified porphyrins.
The macrocycle conformation of [meso-tetraarylporphyrinato] metal complexes is metal-dependent. Furthermore, hydroporphyrins and some of their analogues are known to be more conformationally flexible than the parent porphyrins, but the extent to which this is reflected in their metal-dependent conformations was much less studied. Therefore, their conformations were determined using X-ray crystal structure diffractometry and compared against those of their free bases, as well as against the conformations of the corresponding metalloporphyrins to further define the conformational and electronic effects governing pyrrole-modified porphyrins
A Study on factors influencing Consumers Behavior while availing Hospitality services
Consumer behavior (CB) involves acts, attitudes, ideas or experiences that fulfill the patron's wishes and expectations (Solomon, 1996). This involves all activities that are directly involved in the acquisition, use and disposal of products and services, including the preceding and related decision-making processes. ' (Engel, Blackwell, & Miniard, 1995). When hospitality services are found and used, certain factors influence the decision-making process.
The paper is predicated on a close review of studies coping with the hospitality business, for this purpose numerous analysis papers, websites and books area unit consulted for a close literature review and also the vital gaps area unit determined within the studies on the idea of that the researcher is developed the analysis downside, made hypothesis and chalked out an appropriate analysis, sampling style and hypothesis. Delhi is taken as sampling of analysis and every one the people higher than fifteen years aged were taken because the population of analysis. Sample size was calculated statistically and was more divided in 2 elements as a result of study is administrated on the idea of gender. The sampling was done proportionately from all the zones of Delhi. Data was taken from primary in addition as secondary sources. Paper analyzes consumer awareness of the hospitality industry's Marketing mix policies. Study can so assist the welcome business to draw and customize their policies. The present analysis is administrated from the view of the buyer
RIZATRIPTAN BENZOATE LOADED NATURAL POLYSACCHARIDE BASED MICROSPHERES FOR NASAL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM
Objective: The objective of this research was to formulate and evaluate the different grades of rizatriptan benzoate loaded polysaccharide based microspheres for the nasal drug delivery system. Methods: The polysaccharide was extracted from the seed of Trigonella foenum-graecum and microspheres were prepared by emulsification, followed by crosslinking using epichlorohydrin. A 32 full factorial design was employed in formulating the microspheres with polymer concentration (X1), and stirring rate (X2) as independent variables and particle size (Y1) and entrapment efficiency (Y2) were dependent variables. Results: The microspheres were discrete and free-flowing. The mean particle size (Y1) of microspheres ranged from 40.82+12 µm to 62.48+0.41 µm and the encapsulation efficiency (Y2) was found to be increased from 60.7+0.2% to 79.22+0.2% as the drug polysaccharide ratio increased. A 32 full factorial design confirmed that the X1 and X2 both effect on particle size whereas X1 alone effect on entrapment efficiency. SEM revealed the smooth spherical surface of microspheres whereas kinetic model revealed that drug release followed the case II transport. FTIR indicated good compatibility of the excipients with rizatriptan benzoate. Stability studies were carried out for formulation F7 at 4°C ambient, 25+2°C/60+5%, 40+2°C/75+5% relative humidity revealed that the physical drug appearance, entrapment efficiency were within the permissible limits. Conclusion: The result obtained in this research work indicate a promising potential of control release rizatriptan benzoate loaded microspheres whereas the Trigonella foenum-graecum polysaccharide used as rate controlling polymer for the effective treatment of migraine patients
Departmental Efficiency of Panjab University: An Analysis Using Dea and Tobit Model
The purpose of this paper is to assess the efficiency of teaching departments in Panjab University, Chandighar. The Data envelopment analysis and Tobit analysis is used to assess the teaching and research efficiency of a set of departments. Six models are proposed based on different parameters to cover various drivers of efficiency. We used both Charnes-Cooper-Rhodes (CCR) and Banker, Charnes and Cooper (BCC) output oriented model with three inputs and three outputs. Next, we present some important differences in efficiency of these departments. We also define benchmarks for inefficient departments and quantify the gaps to be fulfilled by them in order to become efficient. Further the robustness of DEA results was tested with help of Sensitivity analysis. The paper provides evidence that among teaching performance, the majority of teaching efficient departments were from the Social Sciences group and over the years, the teaching efficiency of Sciences departments improved and that of the Languages departments decreased. It is further observed that the majority of research efficient departments were from Sciences group, indicating that these departments are good performers for research activities like publications, research projects and paper presented
School Mid-Day Meal Program in India: Past, Present, and Future
In 1995 the National Primary Education Nutrition Support Program was launched with two main objectives: Universalization of elementary education and enhancement of primary school student's nutritional status. The dominant government offered 100 g of wheat / rice per day to children in classes I to V throughout the province, local authorities and the Government helped the elementary schools. Hot cooked meals were provided by Kerala, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh and MP Cereals providing but other states and UTs provided 3 kg of cereals / month to 80 percent attendance for children. By 2001 there were more than 100 systems had served millions of students in 7, 92,000 colleges. In 2001, India's Supreme Court governed that midday meal (MDM) is a legitimate claim for school children, and also that the administration would have to deliver all primary school children with a hot cooked midday meal for 200 days. Universal primary schooling and MDM have also been accomplished in the last decade. MDM provides roughly 100 million children with hot cooked meals each day. MDM’s cereal content is sufficient but MDM’s pulse but vegetable quality is insufficient. Under-nourished school health facilities in coordination with MDM can be identified; Usage of the Body Mass Index (BMI) for aged for healthy and over-nourished children, as well as provide adequate therapy and treatment. If this method is implemented and regularly practiced, and the nutritional child is diagnosed can be considerably improved
ENTROPY OF DATA COMPRESSION USING OBJECT ORIENTED DATA WAREHOUSING
One of the hottest topics in the industry today is data warehousing and on-line analytical processing OLAP Although data warehousing has been around in some form or another since the inception of data storage people were never able to exploit the information that was wastefully sitting on a tape somewhere in a back room Today however technology has advanced to a point to make access to this information an interactive reality Organizations across the country and around the world are seeking expertise in this exploding field of data organization and manipulation It is not a surprise really that business users want to get a better look at their data Today business opportunities measure in days instead of months or years and the more information empowering an entrepreneur or other business person the better the chances of beating a competitor to the punch with a new product or service In this paper we have discussed the efficiency of the data warehousing packages so that less CPU time and less Memory is consume
