ALHAJJ – HAJJ APP FOR IOS

    Get PDF
This paper introduces the AlHajj app for iOS which is an interactive guide to Hajj, like an interactive map allowing users to walk through the process of the Hajj to develop a better understanding of the obligations, locations, dates and Hajj activities with the sequence they are performed in.  It covers both pre and post Hajj activities. AlHajj has a very simplistic and clean User Interface (UI).  The app is also written for maintainability and it is free. KEYWORDS:  Hajj; iOS; Software Tools; Interactive Map; Mobile App; Isla

WHERE DID GENERAL MOTORS GO WRONG WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL?

ABSTRACT: When it comes to purchasing a new car, a buyer expects the car to be safe and reliable. It is the responsibility of the automaker to ensure that those expectations are met. However, to err is human; recalls are a necessary part of life. When a recall happens, it then becomes the responsibility of the automaker to issue the recall in a timely manner. However, that was not the case with the General Motors (GM) ignition switch recall. The focus of this paper will be on the GM ignition switch, including sections regarding the problem with the switch, who may have been responsible for approving the switch, and possible suggestions on how GM could have prevented the recall. Enhanced Multilevel Fuzzy Inference System for Risk Adaptive Hybrid RFID Access Control System

    No full text
Risk-based access control systems are part of identity management systems used to accommodate environments with needs for dynamic access control decisions. The risk value is subjected to overestimation or underestimation since it is measured qualitatively, thus; causing uncertainty problems, which was apparent in a previously proposed hybrid risk adaptive (HRA) access control system. Conversely, Fuzzy Inference Systems can deal with the uncertainty of measures and control the outcomes more precisely; therefore, a multilevel fuzzy inference system (HRA-MFIS) was proposed to replace the risk assessment model in HRA. This paper continues to improve the previous model by introducing an enhanced multilevel fuzzy inference system (EHRA-MFIS), which utilizes user behaviour and time analysis to detect anomalous access behaviour. Moreover, it improves the hybrid adaptive risk calculation module by adding authentication, classification and the degree of user anomalous behaviour to the risk calculation algorithm. The results show that the proposed model has smoothed out the transition between the different risk levels and enhanced the system's overall security by considering the failed authorization attempts and failed authentication attempts, asset classification, and user behaviour when calculating the risk level

Fuzzy logic computational model for performance evaluation of Sudanese Universities and academic staff

    No full text
The excellence of a Sudanese universities and academic staff member can be effectively classified by systematic and objective design criteria, which participates in developing the learning outcomes in Sudan. In the first phase of this study, we reviewed the literatures, determined and defined the suitable quantitative and qualitative criteria and then designed & exploited pairwise comparison and evaluation forms through a survey to get experts opinions/preference on the evaluation criteria that are used to measure the universities and academic staff performance. This paper presents a fuzzy logic computational model based on this survey to measure and classify the performance of Sudanese universities and academic staff, which includes computation of criteria weights and overall evaluation of Sudanese universities and academic staff using AHP and TOPSIS techniques

    Flexible Intelligence Testing System (FITS)

    No full text
The Flexible Intelligence Testing System (FITS) is a real time system which will be presented. FITS is a flexible testing system that can be used by academics to administer tests remotely to students via. Internet. The system will allow teachers to setup test questionnaire, scoring criteria (grades per question, etc.) and validating the results of the test. FITS is a truly production ready testing system. In a university scenario; the software can be used by the professor to setup and administer tests to multiple online students
