The timeliness of the complex automated diagnostics of the metal condition for all characteristics has been substantiated. An algorithm for the automation of metallographic quality control of metals is proposed and described. It is based on the use of neural networks for recognizing images of metal microstructures and a precedent method for determining the metal grade. An approach to preliminarily process the images of metal microstructures is described. The structure of a neural network has been developed to determine the quantitative characteristics of metals. The results of the functioning of neural networks for determining the quantitative characteristics of metals are presented. The high accuracy of determining the characteristics of metals using neural networks is shown. Software has been developed for the automated recognition of images of metal microstructures, and for the determination of the metal grade. Comparative results of carrying out metallographic analysis with the developed tools are demonstrated. As a result, there is a significant reduction in the time required for analyzing metallographic images, as well as an increase in the accuracy of determining the quantitative characteristics of metals. The study of this problem is important not only in the metallurgical industry, but also in production, the maritime industry, and other engineering fields

    No full text
An information model is outlined, which represents an intelligent system of metallographic analysis in the form of a set of subsystems, the interaction of which ensures the performance of metallographic analysis functions. The structure of the information storage subsystem for metallographic analysis is presented. The deployment model of an intelligent metallographic analysis system is proposed and described. The paper outlines the approach to the presentation of an expert subsystem for metallographic quality control of metals based on a neural network. The process of finding a close precedent in metallographic analysis with reference to a multilayer neural network is described. An intelligent metallographic analysis system is described, which based on proposed information model. A specialized software of an intelligent metallographic analysis system is presented. The functioning results of the developed system for processing images of steel microstructures to determine the steel quantitative parameters is presented

Investigation of the Mechanical and Electromechanical Starting Characteristics of an Asynchronous Electric Drive of a Two-Piston Marine Compressor

    No full text
In the article, the mechanical and electromechanical starting characteristics of an asynchronous electric drive of a two-piston ship compressor are investigated by a numerical method. A distinctive feature of the operation of the electric drive of a reciprocating compressor is that its load torque changes with a certain frequency. The dependence of the load torque on the shaft of the electric drive of the piston compressor on the angle of rotation is presented in the form of a Fourier series. Moments of inertia are reduced to a single system that performs a rotary motion. Mechanical and electromechanical starting characteristics are constructed. The estimation of the degree of torque pulsations on the shaft is made. It is determined that the compressor has a large amplitude of torque ripple on the shaft, which, in turn, affects the magnitude of the current ripple in the electric drive

Development of Algorithms for Identifying Parameters of the Maritime Vessel Motion Model in Operating Conditions with Elements of Intellectual Analysis

    No full text
The article examines the synthesis of algorithms for the estimation of the random parameters of ship movement models, based on measured information in field tests. In addition, accuracy analysis of the synthesized algorithms is provided. The derived algorithms are relatively simple and allow highly precise unknown parameters for estimation of ship motion models at the non-real-time scale to be obtained using the measurements recorded in field tests. The results can be used in the construction of automated ship control systems, or in the development of navigation simulators and the creation of ship models

Network Evolution Model with Preferential Attachment at Triadic Formation Step

    No full text
It is recognized that most real systems and networks exhibit a much higher clustering with comparison to a random null model, which can be explained by a higher probability of the triad formation—a pair of nodes with a mutual neighbor have a greater possibility of having a link between them. To catch the more substantial clustering of real-world networks, the model based on the triadic closure mechanism was introduced by P. Holme and B. J. Kim in 2002. It includes a “triad formation step” in which a newly added node links both to a preferentially chosen node and to its randomly chosen neighbor, therefore forming a triad. In this study, we propose a new model of network evolution in which the triad formation mechanism is essentially changed in comparison to the model of P. Holme and B. J. Kim. In our proposed model, the second node is also chosen preferentially, i.e., the probability of its selection is proportional to its degree with respect to the sum of the degrees of the neighbors of the first selected node. The main goal of this paper is to study the properties of networks generated by this model. Using both analytical and empirical methods, we show that the networks are scale-free with power-law degree distributions, but their exponent γ is tunable which is distinguishable from the networks generated by the model of P. Holme and B. J. Kim. Moreover, we show that the degree dynamics of individual nodes are described by a power law

Information System for Diagnosing the Condition of the Complex Structures Based on Neural Networks

In this paper, we describe the relevance of diagnosing the lining condition of steel ladles in metallurgical facilities. Accidents with steel ladles lead to losses and different types of damage in iron and steel works. We developed an algorithm for recognizing thermograms of steel ladles to identify burnout zones in the lining based on the technology and design of neural networks. A diagnostic system structure for automated evaluating of the technical conditions of steel ladles without taking them out of service has been developed and described
