Auditory hallucination is one of the most common symptoms in schizophrenia and the other psychotic disorders. The frequency of the auditory hallucinations and ensuing distress make the individual believe that these voices are not able to be controlled and to be coped. This situation can cause patients to be hopeless and desperate and lead to harm themselves or the others. Furthermore, the time they lose and preoccupation with these symptoms reduce their social and occupational functioning significantly. Auditory hallucinations are fundamentally mean thoughts causing to attribute internal stimulus to the external sources, thus they are the internal speech of the individual. These internal speeches are inaccurately interpreted due to dysfunctions in basic processes of self monitoring. Using cognitive behavioral techniques at this stage are thought to be effective in eliminating cognitive difficulties, understanding feelings, actions and somatic reactions which auditory hallucinations caused; and coping with these symptoms. The fundamental aim of this review was to clarify cognitive behavioral interventions intended for auditory hallucinations and to discuss its practice

WOS: 000351299600008Objective: In recent years bullying has become the subject of many researches, researches which aimed to understand bullying and related factors has been increased, because of the its negative outcomes of bullying in schools. However the number of the studies which investigate the cognitions of children who are bullying others are rare. Because there is almost no scale developed to measures cognitions of bullies. The aim of this study is to develop a measure to evaluate the cognitions about bullying in children and to determine the psychometric characteristics of the scale. Methods: Bullying and the Moral Disengagement Scale and interviews which were done with children were used to develop a 25-item Likert type scale. Cognition about Bullying Inventory for Children was applied with Child Form of Bully-Victim Determination Scale and Bullying Behavior Tendency Scale to 1740 secondary public school students in Izmir, Turkey. Results: Three items in the scale were found as decreasing the alpha coefficient that's why these were eliminated form the scale. Final version was formed as 22-item scale. Internal consistency of the 22-item scale was found to be 0.91. Test retest reliability of the scale was notably high. Varimax rotation was done, as the result of the factor analysis it was found that 48.73% of total variance was explained by 3 factors. Based on correlation concurrent validity of the scale was found to be significant with the Child Form of Bully-Victim Determination Scale 'ully' subscale and with Bullying Behavior Tendency Scale. Concclusions: Cognitions About Bullying Inventory for Children was thought to be reliable and valid in acceptable levels. The scale is thought to be used in evaluation of the cognitions and be used to assess the effectiveness of psychological intervention used to reduce bullying for secondary school

This study aims to review empirical studies that evaluate effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral group therapy programs for treatment for panic disorder. Articles in English and Turkish that were published between the years of 2000 and 2015 (February) have been searched in the national and international databases. The articles that were not therapy effectiveness studies, and group therapies that not based on cognitive behavioral approach were eliminated. The remaining 19 studies that were met the criteria were introduced in terms of method, therapy characteristics and results. The results of the studies showed that cognitive behavioral group therapies have similar efficacy with individual cognitive behavioral therapy on panic disorder symptoms (panic attacks frequency, the level of agoraphobia etc.) and comorbid disorders (depression, anxiety sensitivity). However, cognitive behavioral group therapy is more cost-effective. [Psikiyatride Guncel Yaklasimlar - Current Approaches in Psychiatry 2016; 8(Supplement 1): 79-94
