A Lightweight and Attack Resistant Authenticated Routing Protocol for Mobile Adhoc Networks

In mobile ad hoc networks, by attacking the corresponding routing protocol, an attacker can easily disturb the operations of the network. For ad hoc networks, till now many secured routing protocols have been proposed which contains some disadvantages. Therefore security in ad hoc networks is a controversial area till now. In this paper, we proposed a Lightweight and Attack Resistant Authenticated Routing Protocol (LARARP) for mobile ad hoc networks. For the route discovery attacks in MANET routing protocols, our protocol gives an effective security. It supports the node to drop the invalid packets earlier by detecting the malicious nodes quickly by verifying the digital signatures of all the intermediate nodes. It punishes the misbehaving nodes by decrementing a credit counter and rewards the well behaving nodes by incrementing the credit counter. Thus it prevents uncompromised nodes from attacking the routes with malicious or compromised nodes. It is also used to prevent the denial-of-service (DoS) attacks. The efficiency and effectiveness of LARARP are verified through the detailed simulation studies.Comment: 14 Pages, IJWM

Cost economics in construction of multi storied buildings

India is fast moving forward from agrarian economy to Industrial Economy. Our country is considered to be a safe platform for industrial investment by the world. Global Leaders and very many MNCs (Multi-National Companies) are evincing keen interest in having Joint Venture or opening their manufacturing facility in India.  India is witnessing a boom in industrialisation. This leads to vast employment opportunities to people of all walks of life. People are moving from rural areas to urban areas for occupational needs. This leads to mass arrival of people to city and consequently the rental costs also shoot up substantially. The industrial wage structure being reasonable with assured disposable income, people who prefer to stay in city start comparing rental costs versus paying EMI towards owning an apartment for themselves. The idea gets strong rooted with the easily available institutional finance to people, especially to youngsters with longer duration of EMI. All these result in a sustained demand for apartments. The builders, particularly in the city, are cashing in on the opportunity by embarking upon construction of multi storied buildings in the city and also the outskirts of same

Hydrostatic pressure effect on Tc of new BiS2 based Bi4O4S3 and NdO0.5F0.5BiS2 layered superconductors

We investigate the external hydrostatic pressure effect on the superconducting transition temperature (Tc) of new layered superconductors Bi4O4S3 and NdO0.5F0.5BiS2. Though the Tc is found to have moderate decrease from 4.8 K to 4.3 K (dTconset/dP = -0.28 K/GPa) for Bi4O4S3 superconductor, the same increases from 4.6 K to 5 K (dTconset/dP = 0.44 K/GPa) upto 1.31 GPa followed by a sudden decrease from 5 K to 4.7 K upto 1.75 GPa for NdO0.5F0.5BiS2 superconductor. The variation of Tc in these systems may be correlated to increase or decrease of the charge carriers in the density of states under externally applied pressure.Comment: 3 pages text +Fig

A Scheme to Implement a Universal Two-Qubit Quantum Circuit using Cross-Resonance Hamiltonian

In this brief report, we propose a circuit which is locally equivalent to a recently proposed universal two-qubit quantum circuit involving two applications of special perfect entanglers (SPEs) and local y-rotations. Further, we discuss a scheme of implementation of the equivalent circuit using cross-resonance Hamiltonian. Finally, we implement the B-gate circuit using a CNOT gate and a CNOT\sqrt{\text{CNOT}} gate. This requires the implementation time which is approximately 64.84% of the time required to implement the same gate using two CNOT gates.Comment: 6 pages, Research in progress, Comments are welcom

Lung Segmentation from Chest X-rays using Variational Data Imputation

Pulmonary opacification is the inflammation in the lungs caused by many respiratory ailments, including the novel corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Chest X-rays (CXRs) with such opacifications render regions of lungs imperceptible, making it difficult to perform automated image analysis on them. In this work, we focus on segmenting lungs from such abnormal CXRs as part of a pipeline aimed at automated risk scoring of COVID-19 from CXRs. We treat the high opacity regions as missing data and present a modified CNN-based image segmentation network that utilizes a deep generative model for data imputation. We train this model on normal CXRs with extensive data augmentation and demonstrate the usefulness of this model to extend to cases with extreme abnormalities.Comment: Accepted to be presented at the first Workshop on the Art of Learning with Missing Values (Artemiss) hosted by the 37th International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML). Voice Maps for Visually Impaired with Obstacle Detection

    Get PDF
The paper presents the architecture and implementation of a system that will help the visually impaired people to navigate using GPS technology. The system provides artificial guidance to the visually impaired through known paths, that is the path for navigation has to be already stored in the microcontroller. The current latitude and longitude values of the user are obtained using GPS. These values are continuously compared with the already stored value in the microcontroller. Thus helps the blind in navigation. The goal is to create a portable, simple and less costly system that will allow user to travel through familiar and unfamiliar environments without the aid of guides. Also it provides voice recognition to detect obstacles. The obstacles are detected using three ultrasonic sensors, which are placed on the left, right, and front positions of the blind. The commands and messages are played back to the blind via APR9600 voice playback IC. The keypad used in system allows the user to select the desired locations to which he/she wishes to go. Keypad consists of 12 keys where each key represents a location. Blind selects the key using Braille language. The paper focuses on the development and evaluation of a Navigation system that makes use of Global Positioning System, voice and ultrasonic sensor for obstacle detection

Macroscopic synthesis and characterization of giant fullerenes

    Get PDF
Thermal treatment of carbon soot produced by arc evaporation of nickel-filled graphite rods in 500 Torr of helium gives giant fullerenes showing characteristic IR, Raman, NMR and powder XRD signatures. Transmission electron micrographs show faceted structures with pentagonal, hexagonal and spherical shapes. The simplicity and similarity of the IR spectrum with those of smaller fullerenes suggest that the material is a form of large fullerenes. Chemical treatment of the material gives carbon onions

Enhancing the Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Nanocomposite Films Based on Poly Lactic Acid/OMMT Nano Clay

    Get PDF
Abstract: Organic (PLA) inorganic (OMMT nano clay) hybrid nanocomposite films were fabricated using poly lactic acid (PLA) with various weight percentages (1-3wt%) of organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT) nano clay by means of one step solvent casting method. The thermal, mechanical and water absorption properties were determined as per standard testing methods to determine the optimum percentage of OMMT nano clay within the nanocomposite was investigated. The surface morphology of the organic-inorganic hybrid nanocomposite films was analyzed through XRD, SEM, and TEM surface analytical techniques. The incorporation of OMMT clay in to PLA matrix is found to have enhanced the thermo-mechanical properties. The water absorption and solubility test results also support the data from thermo-mechanical tests. The 2 wt % OMMT clay loaded PLA films showed the best results among all. The obtained results showed that the thermal, mechanical and water absorption properties could be increased significantly with the optimum incorporation of OMMT nano clay in a PLA matrix, in comparision wih the neat PLA
