143-152Arisaema leschenaultii Blume is endemic to South India and Sri Lanka. It grows in shades, especially on shola floor of 1200 – 2000 m altitude, it is rare and threatened in silent valley. The corms and tender leaves are cooked with tamarind paste and eaten as a vegetable by Kanis tribe in Tirunelveli hills. It is employed medicinally by Singhalese as a substitute to Arisaema jacquemontii Blume, whose juice is good for ringworm infection and the paste is applied as ointment in skin diseases. The corms are used to cure piles. This paper focuses on the pharmacognosy of A. leschenaultii Blume because pharmacognosy is an important link between pharmacology and medicinal chemistry. Morphological and anatomical description of plant, pharmacognostical and analytical standards and physical constants were obtained by employing standard methods of analysis as described in Pharmacopoeia of India. The results of the present investigation provide dependable diagnostic features of the vegetative organs of the plants for the identity of the drug in entire and in fragmentary conditions.</span

Entropy Method of Multi-Attribute Decision-Making Problems

Get PDF
Food choice aims to identify the solution totheexiguity of the food. It is possible to do this through diversification. Finding the best selection of food alternatives is the goal of food diversification.. Multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) methods attempt to choose the best alternative from a group of possibilities based on several parameters. This paper provides the description of the entropy process use in the analysis and application of multi attribute decision-making (MADM) for choosing foods

Applications of Multi Attribute Decision making problem

The method of generating intention with the scope of impact is called the decision making. It is the process which an unique or a group evaluates solutions and alternatives in order to found the most politic option while inspecting the problems or situations.Multi-attribute decision-making (MADM)MADM approaches are designed to discover the most satisfying of numerous comparison choices or to rank possibilities based on their connection to the analysed target. The strategies are utilized to identify the suitable alternative/solution when none of the evaluation parameters are the best. The Multi-attribute decision making theory offers a formal base for the establishment of a model, in which the key criteria is the individual parameters that result in an integrated assessment.MADMis a strategy for evaluating decisions with numerous co-attribute options in a complete and effective manner. The most appropriate options are ranked from most to least, and MADM methods are frequently used to get the best solution. In this paper, the decision-making algorithm is suggested and applied to purchase a new bike with the maximin method

382-385Lagenandra ovata (Linn.) Thw. syn. L. toxicaria Dalz. of Araceae family was evaluated for antibacterial activity against the Gram positive bacterium, Staphylococcus aureus and the Gram negative bacteria, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, P. vulgaris and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Methanol extract of the rhizome and the oil fractions obtained from the methanol extract through column chromatography were screened. The rhizome oil was found to be active against the pathogens, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae and this activity was compared to the standard antibiotic, Chloramphenicol. The rhizome oil of L. ovata possesses potential antibacterial activity and can be exploited as an antiseptic agent against the susceptible organisms

INFLUENCE OF PHOSPHOROUS AND UREA ON THE MAGNETIC AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF NANOSTRUCTURED FEPTP FILMS

Abstract: The properties of hard magnetic FePtP films electrodeposited in the presence of urea as additive and phosphorous acid as a precursor with varying concentrations were studied with respect to thickness of the films. Films were electrodeposited in various current densities in order to get different thickness and uniform deposits. Elemental composition of the films was obtained using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Vibrating sample magnetometric studies indicate that additives have favourable impact on the magnetic properties of these films. Structural and surface analysis was carried out using X-ray diffractometry and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Reasons for variation in magnetic properties and structural characteristics are discussed. Hardness and adhesion of the films were also studied

ABSTRACT Merremia emarginata Burm. F (Convolvulaceae) is a perennial, much branched herb (creeper). It is found widely distributed all over the India. Merremia emarginata is also known as Ipomoea reniformis chois. It is reported to have many important medicinal properties. In the Indigenous system of Medicine, Ipomoea reniformis has been claimed to be useful for cough, headache, neuralgia, rheumatism, diuretic, inflammation, troubles of nose, fever due to enlargement of the liver and also for treating cancer. The present study was designed to investigate the phytoconstituent of the the plant Merremia emarginata Burm. f which contain terpenes, steroids, polyphenols, glycosides, flavanoids, carbohydrates and proteins are confirmed by preliminary phytochemical studies and GC-MS analysis
