This paper explores the challenges faced by older workers (50+) related to technostress and the digital divide. Technostress is a growing phenomenon resulting from the widespread use of ICT technologies in modern society. The aim of this paper is to propose and characterize strategies to reduce technostress and the digital divide that would help the inclusion and retention of older workers in both private and public organizations. This paper is based on the Arksey and O’Malley framework for scoping reviews. The results of the research conducted show that one of the most effective strategies to mitigate the effects of these phenomena is social dialogue between employers and employees, which can be a source of innovative and creative solutions. As part of the answer to the research question, we found that the social dialogue about solving the impact of technostress should include the active involvement of older adults, which would reflect their current needs.publishedVersio

Social media and advertising offers opportunities for receiving pre- and post-purchase information. Advertising plays a significant role in business marketing, as every company wants its product to be successful, and familiar to its target audience, and thus, it is essential to promote it. Promotion plays an important role within the marketing mix, as its aim is to draw the attention of potential buyers. The main purpose of this study is to find out how social media, especially advertising, changed its content during the COVID-19 pandemic. A questionnaire was distributed among respondents by means of social media. This way we included representatives of each age category trying to resemble, as closely as possible, the Slovak market. From among the randomly selected participants (social media users), 135 respondents completed the questionnaire. As for the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, in terms of advertising, we found out that there had been a certain change. According to the answers of our respondents, the changes related to the content of advertisements, the motives used, their narratives, offered products or services, or the combination of all the above. Consumers noticed an increased amount of COVID-19 related products such as face masks, disinfectants, etc. Skutki pandemii COVID-19 w zakresie reklamy spowodowały pewne zmiany. Według odpowiedzi respondentów zmiany te dotyczyły treści reklam, zastosowanych motywów, ich narracji, oferowanych produktów, usług lub wszystkich wymienionych elementów łącznie. Konsumenci zauważyli zwiększoną ilość produktów związanych z COVID-19, szczególnie takich, jak maseczki ochronne, środki dezynfekcyjne itp

eGovernment brings administration closer to its citizens and entrepreneurs, speeding up, facilitating, and increasing the transparency of administrative actions, consequently saving time and money and increasing efficiency. The study aims to explore the digital divide and digital citizenship in eGovernment usage in Slovakia and Norway according to their national statistics. The study adopted quantitative secondary data from Eurostat’s individual-level database, originating from the questionnaire ‘Information and Communications Technology (ICT) use in households and by individuals’. The analysis was applied to Norwegian and Slovak data from 2021, and the research sample consists of 2145 observations from Norway and 3252 observations from Slovakia. The results show that being a beneficiary of eGovernment services aligns with sociodemographic variables to a lower extent in Norway than in Slovakia. In Slovakia, the usage of the services varies not only according to the education of the user but also according to income, even if an individual has access to the Internet and sufficient skills. Due to the high level of development, and especially the inclusive nature of eGovernment, the Norwegian approach with the implementation of electronic identification (eID), digital mailbox, contact information, Altinn, and public common registers could serve as a benchmark for the further development of public digital services—not only in Slovakia but also for other countries. The conclusion shows that there is less inequity in the possibility to use eGovernment within individual social groups in Norway than in Slovakia. Norway manifests and emplaces strategies to guarantee critical judgment, ensuring the use of digital tools with safety. Slovakia, with lower levels of digital service users, tends to experience higher levels of digital divide which make the situation with eGovernment penetration even more difficult

The Long-Term Care with Focus on an Integrative Care Model in the Slovak Republic: A Pilot Study

    No full text
An integrative care model is a challenge and the future of social and healthcare systems globally in establishing interdisciplinary cooperation. The integrative care model responds to the needs of patients suffering from various diseases as well as their families. Planning and policy making should involve professionals in both the medical and social care disciplines; additionally, the management and administrators of social and healthcare services, at both the national and community levels, are crucial in integrating health services. This article aims to present and describe the selection methods of functional groupings of municipalities as appropriate locations for implementing care practices for elderly, in this case an integrative social and health services model. The study employed an exploratory mixed methods design. The proposed methodology of the selection of the functional groupings of municipalities has a mixed-methodological character, consisting of quantitative as well as qualitative methods. Our research focused on quantitative data processing using two approaches: the multicriteria evaluation method to create a composite index and the ArcGIS system to express the geographical distribution of the value of the composite index. The qualitative document study was applied to analyses of community-based plans for health and social services. The methodology also includes an evaluation of municipalities, which was not the subject of our paper. Furthermore, the article suggests the need to consider other factors in connection with the methodology of the selection of functional groupings and explains some of its limitations in the discussion
