Numerical investigation of the Ostrogradsky number effect on natural convection and thermal radiation in an enclosure
Unsteady natural convection combined with surface thermal radiation in closed cavity with a local heat-generating source has been investigated. The heat source of triangular shape of internal volumetric heat generation is located on the bottom wall. The vertical side walls are supposed to be isothermal and cooled. The governing equations of conservation of momentum, mass and energy, described the fluid flow and heat transfer have been represented by dimensionless variable "stream function - vorticity - temperature". The effects of the heat source power and emissivity factor on fluid flow and heat transfer within the cavity have been analyzed. Streamlines and isotherms as well as fluid flow rate, the local Nusselt numbers, average convective and radiative Nusselt numbers have been obtained

The article presents the results of investigation to improve the method of non-destructive testing of concrete strength by the parameters of electric response to impact excitation. The Electric response parameters of concrete samples with the same composition in size 100x100x100mm were studied. Reconstruction of the wavefunctions of coupled nanoscopic emitters using a coherent optical technique
We show that using coherent, spatially resolved spectroscopy, complex hybrid
wave functions can be disentangled into the individual wave functions of the
individual emitters. This way, detailed information on the coupling of the
individual emitters, not available in far-field spectroscopy can be obtained.
The proposed quantum state tomography relies on the ability to selectively
excite each emitter individually by spatially localized pulses. Simulations of
coupled semiconductor Ga/InAs quantum dots, using light fields available in
current nanoplasmonics, show that even undesired resonances can be removed from
measured spectra. The method can also be applied to study the internal coupling
of pigments in photosythesis and artificial light harvesting.Comment: 20 pages, 5 figure

The change of depth perception (FLIP) of the rotating Necker cube prefers certain flip-positions when edges overlap. Thus it is possible to study FLIPs without necessarily instructing the subjects to indicate a FLIP by pressing of a button. In this experiment we studied electrophysiologic correlates of FLIPs. 9 right-handed subjects observed a standardized rotating necker cube while recording 96 channel EEG. Additional a fMRI study carried out. A fMRI-constrained minimum norm current density reconstruction calculated the electric activity of selected brain regions for every single epoch. Additional to averaging, a single epoch wavelet transform delivered the non phaselocked average in order to detect event related (de-)synchronisations
