Characterization of syringomycin and syringopeptin gene clusters encoding thiotemplate mechanism of toxin synthesis by Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae

    No full text
Syringomycin and syringopeptin are lipopeptide phytotoxins produced by Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae. Sequence analysis of the gene cluster involved in the biosynthesis of these metabolites is presented. The genetic approach was used to resolve the relative contribution of each toxin to the bacterial virulence in the plant-microbe interaction
