The effect of levallorphan tartrate and of adiphenine hydrochloride on the antidiuretic action of morphine and nicotine
Levallorphan antagonizes the antidiuretic effect of morphine. It is at least 25 times as potent as nalorphine in this respect. However, neither levallorphan nor adiphenine antagonized the antidiuretic action of nicotine
Effect of nicotine, nornicotine and allylnornicotine on the diuretic response to water in rats
The LD50 in mice for nicotine, (β)-nornicotine and allylnornicotine given intraperitoneally was respectively 10 mg/kg, 18.8 mg/kg and 93.3 mg/kg. Whilst nicotine inhibited the renal response in rats to water, (β)-nornicotine and allylnornicotine were without effect. Nicotine antidiuresis was not antagonized by (β)-nornicotine or by allylnornicotine
