    A Topological Reconstruction Theorem for DD^{\infty}-Modules

    In this paper, we prove that any perfect complex of DD^{\infty}-modules may be reconstructed from its holomorphic solution complex provided that we keep track of the natural topology of this last complex. This is to be compared with the reconstruction theorem for regular holonomic DD-modules which follows from the well-known Riemann-Hilbert correspondence. To obtain our result, we consider sheaves of holomorphic functions as sheaves with values in the category of ind-Banach spaces and study some of their homological properties. In particular, we prove that a K\"{u}nneth formula holds for them and we compute their Poincar\'{e}-Verdier duals. As a corollary, we obtain the form of the kernels of ``continuous'' cohomological correspondences between sheaves of holomorphic forms. This allows us to prove a kind of holomorphic Schwartz' kernel theorem and to show that D=RHomtop(O,O)D^{\infty}=RHomtop(O,O). Our reconstruction theorem is a direct consequence of this last isomorphism. Note that the main problem is the vanishing of the topological Ext's and that this vanishing is a consequence of the acyclicity theorems for DFN spaces which are established in the paper.Comment: 36 pages, LaTeX + AMS and Xy-pic macros.     Sports concussion management using Facebook: A feasibility study of an innovative adjunct "iCon

    Context: Sports concussion is currently the focus of much international attention. Innovative methods of facilitating management following this injury need to be investigated to assist athletic trainers. Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of using a Facebook concussion management program termed "iCon" ("interactive concussion management") to facilitate the safe return to play (RTP) of young persons following a sports concussion. Design: This qualitative study was designed as a single-group observational feasibility study using programme evaluation methodology, with the focus on gauging the suitability of the Facebook management strategy for a potential larger study. Setting: iCon involved a Facebook group containing interactive elements, with moderation and support from trained healthcare professionals. Patients or Other Participants: Eleven participants completed the study (n=9 males, n=2 females), and ranged from 18 to 28 years old. Data Collection and Analysis: The study was conducted over a three-month period, with participant questionnaires administered pre- and post-intervention. The primary focus was on the qualitative experiences of the participants in the study, and the effect of iCon on their RTP. Usage data was also collected during the study. Results: At the completion of the study, all participants (100%) stated that they would recommend an intervention such as iCon to others, with their supporting quotes all indicating that iCon has the potential to improve the management of concussion amongst this cohort. The majority of participants (n=9 or 82%) stated they were better informed with regards to their RTP because of participating in iCon. Conclusions: This interactive adjunct to traditional concussion management was appreciated amongst this particular participant group and indicated feasibility for a future, larger study of iCon. Athletic trainers should consider the role that multimedia technologies may play in assisting with the management of sports concussion

    We construct a first order parent field theory for free higher spin gauge fields on constant curvature spaces. As in the previously considered flat case, both Fronsdal's and Vasiliev's unfolded formulations can be reached by two different straightforward reductions. Розглянуто формування нормативно-правової бази щодо боротьби з корупцією та пов’язаною з нею злочинністю, надано характеристику напрямів та шляхів співпраці органів внутрішніх справ нашої країни з іноземними державами, їх правоохоронними органами і спеціальними службами, а також із міжнародними організаціями, які здійснюють заходи із протидії корупції. Визначено перспективи подальшого розвитку міжнародного співробітництва МВС у протидії транснаціональним формам корупції.В статье осуществлен анализ развития и современного состояния международного сотрудничества МВД Украины в сфере противодействия коррупции. Рассмотрено формирование нормативно-правовой базы по борьбе с коррупцией и связанной с ней преступностью, дана характеристика направлений и путей сотрудничества органов внутренних дел Украины с зарубежными государствами, их правоохранительными органами и специальными службами, а также с международными организациями, которые осуществляют мероприятия по противодействию коррупции. Определены перспективные направления дальнейшего развития международного сотрудничества МВД Украины в сфере противодействия транснациональным формам коррупции.Development and modern state of the international cooperation of the Ukranian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the sphere of corruption counteraction is analyzed.     Patch-Based Experiments with Object Classification in Video Surveillance

    We present a patch-based algorithm for the purpose of object classification in video surveillance. Within detected regions-of-interest (ROIs) of moving objects in the scene, a feature vector is calculated based on template matching of a large set of image patches. Instead of matching direct image pixels, we use Gabor-filtered versions of the input image at several scales. This approach has been adopted from recent experiments in generic object-recognition tasks. We present results for a new typical video surveillance dataset containing over 9,000 object images. Furthermore, we compare our system performance with another existing smaller surveillance dataset. We have found that with 50 training samples or higher, our detection rate is on the average above 95%. Because of the inherent scalability of the algorithm, an embedded system implementation is well within reach

    The global distribution and spread of the mobilized colistin resistance gene mcr-1.

    Colistin represents one of the few available drugs for treating infections caused by carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae. As such, the recent plasmid-mediated spread of the colistin resistance gene mcr-1 poses a significant public health threat, requiring global monitoring and surveillance. Here, we characterize the global distribution of mcr-1 using a data set of 457 mcr-1-positive sequenced isolates. We find mcr-1 in various plasmid types but identify an immediate background common to all mcr-1 sequences. Our analyses establish that all mcr-1 elements in circulation descend from the same initial mobilization of mcr-1 by an ISApl1 transposon in the mid 2000s (2002-2008; 95% highest posterior density), followed by a marked demographic expansion, which led to its current global distribution. Our results provide the first systematic phylogenetic analysis of the origin and spread of mcr-1, and emphasize the importance of understanding the movement of antibiotic resistance genes across multiple levels of genomic organization
