Highly integrated and bi-directional onboard chargers allow for various future applications. In addition to flexible charging options through the charging electronics already integrated into the vehicle, electric vehicles can in the future act as a distributed energy storage system to support the grid. To achieve this, compact and highly dynamic chargers are required. This thesis deals with the possibilities and challenges of integration for the central components of such a charging system. This includes the mains filter, which has to meet the requirements of high switching frequencies and switching edges while complying with legal standards, as well as the compact realization of an electrically isolated dual-active bridge and a highly dynamic control of the mains current. The theoretical investigations are examined and evaluated on a prototype
